i'm playing it again now, i thought RFOM was very good actually, but mention "PS3" and "nothing like this on xbox live in terms of amount players in a match for free" and thread is doomed by the xbox nayslayers, just seems like nobody wants PS3 to do well at anything.

yet isnt. insomniac have never released bull, they were accused of releasing bullshots of the RFOM snow levels but were vindicated upon playing the game.

Wrong. I bought a PS3 to play it as I was expecting something special, but it was just very average. It's just like Blacksite is now.
Actually, a lot of the early Resistance screenshots were bull. Rendered in engine but not actually in-game. I wouldn't blame Insomniac though, it's what Sony have always done.
I thought the big team battles in Halo 3 were manic!
Ok I don't think anyone is saying R:FOM is some kind of godlike Halo 3 beating game or a "w0wzerz! OMGZ!! you have to play it!" - But seriously its a solid enough game.
I guess it all boils down to personal taste, I found Bioshock boring and dull yet it's nominated on a lot of websites as GOTY. Who is right and who is wrong? I don't think you can answer that question.

As usual, Keep in mind, Thats how you see the game. I thought it was a good game, and again, Ill ask you how much of the game you played?
The beginning was a little slow but not bad, and the game gained pace as the story proceeded.
there's no delusion there at all, a lot of people on here seem to really look down on people with an opinion that differs.
I'm not entirely sure. Several hours, I never completed it as I would have forced myself to do so. But I played a fair bit.
However, it's not how I see the game, he said I'd clearly not played it, but I have and unfortunately for me, the want of the PS3 was only to play that, so if anything I'd have defended it more.
If someone wants to lend me it I'll play it from start to finish and re-post on it, then send it back.

How do you know I didn't play the majority of it? 51% would be the majority would it not? That means I would have played more than I had left. For all you know I could have been 75% through it.
Either way, if a game is crap for the first 30 minutes why would I want to play any more? (And yes, I played a lot more than 30 minutes). I was in a position of having all the consoles so I didn't have to stick with playing average games.

I got to the last level I think and just didn't bother, got bored and it was a challenge to bother getting that far.
But I've heard it was excellent at the end!!

All joking aside, I would give it another crack if I were you.
You really can't judge this particular title until you've completed it.
I was just talking to somebody else about this earlier.
I bought R:FOM as one of the titles with my PS3.
When I loaded it up, I thought "meh!" and put it back on the shelf.
After playing some great PC titles, I couldn't see what the fuss was about, for such a bland looking game.
Anyway, a while later I came back to it, and made myself play for a bit, seeing as I'd paid top dollar for it. I had read that it gets better.
Well, after playing for a fair while, some of the levels really started feeling like Call of Duty levels. Frantic war scenes, bloody good fun.
After that, it gets better and better. The ice/snow levels were "WOW!" graphically.... at the time anyway, it's nearly a year ago now!
and as for going on to the end, it felt like a great science fiction story, with stunning graphics, that really made you wonder why the hell the whole game didn't look like that.
Of course it's horses for courses, I'm just agreeing with you, that to start with, and for quite a fair while, it is slow, can be a bit on the boring side, and definitely, not the greatest thing to look at. But, it does payoff by the end.
Despite having other great titles here waiting to play, I'm actually playing through it again now, from the beginning, which is high praise indeed from me. Also more fun the second time around, as there are new weapons, and a great new grenade.
You may not be as surprised by me, but once I got past the 40's setting, it definitely took a turn for the better.
Just my opinion of course, and I'm also guilty of trying a game for a certain amount of time, and just stopping if it doesn't feel good. This one however, does improve.
Yours and my gaming tastes do obviously differ though, as despite the fact I tried to love Bioshock, and looks/handling wise I did love it, but the game itself annoyed the hell out of me, all the tooing and froing... but I know you said you loved it.
Still, we're all different, and that's what keeps the world, and indeed this forum, interesting!
