Slightly embarrassing :(, ah well thought we were lucky to nick a draw in the first round so fully expected a loss but not of that magnitude.

Slightly embarrassing? Those players have let the club down and I hope Wenger has let them know today of how pathetic that performance was.

Some of you gooners are as bad as Wenger... talk about sore losers! Some of the crap they're coming out with on the footy forums

More embarrassing than getting stuffed 5:1 :D

In the past I'd probably have reacted to some of the Spurs nonsense on this thread but I think this time I'll let you lot have your moment. Well done :)

Arsenal fans have always been terrible losers, but I'm gobsmacked at how poor some of the Tottenham fans have been in victory on the net.

I'm more interested in this Adebayor headbutting Bendtner issue, it only goes to confirm my suspicions that that horrible group hug nonsense Arsenal do is as fake as your average London Rolex.

Yeah us gooners are terrible in defeat, we need to be more gracious and congratulate the other team until we are blue in the face like the great honest Manchester United fans do.

I'm sure you mancs know better than most exactly what the atmosphere within our club is like as well. I have a slight suspicion that if there is tension within the club we wouldn't be top.....

Yeah - White Hart Lane is like a fortress.

hehe just noticed that we have twice as many points as Spurs do after 23 games. 27 points ahead and we were tipped by this lot to finish outside of the Top 4 :)

u shouldn't waste your time trying responding to fans like Goksly

they are generally sore losers and fail to see things rationally etc
lol how am I sore loser? I didnt think we'd win. Going by previous seasons it was obvious the type of team we were going to field - surprised we got past Blackburn etc.

The fact of the matter is people on here are spouting rubbish The Daily Mail would be proud of. Can see the headlines now "Arsenal Field 7 Full Team Players" - yeah for the first 20 minutes it was Gallas and Helb, Cesc added to the mix then and it said like that for a further 50 minutes.

I think Arsenal fans can see how the game was played; Spurs played us off the pitch and should have done the same at the Emirates. Well done. But at least have the balls to admit its a micky mouse cup and for 75% of the game you were playing our reserves; most of them havent played more than 10 minutes in a league game.

Blind.

Yup - with Henry gone, this was the season Spurs were coming 4th... or something.

It doesn't matter whether it's the FA Cup final, Carling Cup semi-final or a kick-about in the pub car park. North London derbies are always special and both sets of supporters always want to win them.

It'll be interesting to see how many in your "reserve" team play at the weekend in a "proper" match. What do you reckon? 7?

And here's some quality quotes from Wenger:

"I feel that everything went against us."

"The score is very high and very brutal but I think it does not reflect what happened on the pitch. The first shot on goal was a goal, the second goal was an own goal, the third was straight after half time. After that, the game was over. It had no real meaning after that. They could concentrate on defending and catching us on the break. I don't give a big meaning to the importance of the score. It can be explained by the way the game went"

"My only regret is playing [some of] the players who played."

Comedy genius. :)

yak yak yak :D

You get the Arsenal fans who have accepted defeat gracefully and acknowledged we were the better side and deserved to win then you get the fans who bring out "it was only our kids" phrase again. Yet they forget that there were 7 1st team players on the pitch at the end, and as previously mentioned Fabregas came on after 10 or so minutes and Adebayor and Eduardo after 60. Not to mention their rock at the back Gallas (who got made to look like a school boy by the whole Spurs team for 90 minutes).

If you look on the Arsenal web site all the players they fielded are classed as first team players and have made at least 5 appearances for Arsenal this season. Add to the fact we took our main strike force off with 30 mins to go.

Sagna, Gallas and Hleb were the only players to start that would start a league game. Even they wouldn't have played if they didn't have injuries/absences to the younger players in those positions.

Probably most of them who have had 5 appearances played them in the.... League Cup? Or the classic "well we're 90 mins through the game... you can play 30 seconds".

As for the derby thing - yeah, obviously. It's one of those difficult situations; we should be playing full strength side etc, but we do play in a lot of competitions and the "reserve" team has been given all the games in the League Cup... Would be harsh to replace them all etc. If we would have lost to Blackburn, where we put out pretty much the same team - no one would care. So your right - its probably the derby thing is why people are just kicking up a fuss.

Anywho - when Chelsea win the cup and Spurs come very much mid-table, all will be forgotten :p

Arsenal aren't playing any more games than Spurs this season so what's the problem?

Wenger really believed you were going to win and get to the final.... Ramos handed him a whooping for being disrespectful, bet he won't make that mistake again ;)
