Hell, the Wii is rubbish in comparison, as was the Game Boy Advance. The DS is the only console Nintendo have had their hands on that's even comparable to the Nintendo64.
I'd rather have fewer brilliant games than lots of rubbish.

Dreamcast then snes and in 3rd N64, 360 will always be remember by me as that noisey unreliable hunk of junk - yet remembered for some great games, so not all bad.

You had a PSX? Sony's media center based on the Playstation 2? It wasn't even a console primarily. For someone so 'clued up' on Sony stuff, it's a rookie error , especially as you already named the Playstation 2.
