January Transfer Window

Is that £15m aswell as the £25m for the guaranteed fact Berbatov is going to OT?

(if you believe most other utd fans that is...)

I was going to post some financial stuff on here the other day but it's a bit too deep I think... very interesting though. Also shows Man Utd are in massive debt and have been told to cut it down drastically.

Apparently all european clubs are looking at the THFC business model and we are in a very healthy financial position.

So basically if you want a Spurs player you're going to have to pay through the nose... can you afford it?

Not at all I was actually really only joking, no offence. It is the sort of thing that does happen and has happened through the years. Man Utd were linked with Hutton but at this point in his career it is a risky buy at £8/9m at his level of development.

Not sure about that, United "risked" £18m on Nani and the same on Anderson, who surely weren't as developed as Hutton, a full International with Champions League experience?

A lot of Rangers fans are VERY pleased right now.
Yeah I know, not all though ;)

I dont want Berbatov, i'm not 100% sure you guys are going to need him either to be honest.

The Manchester United financial position varies drastically depending on what way you view it. I dont really want to get into cos if i get something wrong i will get jumped on immediately. There are very few clubs who are of the size and turnover of Manchesr United but i cant vouch for the way the Glazers are managing it.

Manchester United tend to have to pay a premium for players and thats just a fact. We may have paid over the odds for Carrick but you guys missed him and he's doing a job for us. We paid over the odds for Rio and perhaps even Rooney too (even Ronaldo at the time) but when Man Utd come calling the price goes up. Naturally the selling club wants to put the deal across as being in their best interests whether they want to sell or not. Rio, Rooney and Ronaldo were not bargains but have proved to be excellent buys.

To a certain extent thats true but £9m for a right back who has only played in Scotland is an awful lot of money. The money we risked on the two players you mentioned were staggered i believe and its easier to recoup money on these guys if it doesnt work out than a Scottish right back if he doesnt live up to his potential.

Both Nani and Anderson had international and CL experience iirc and were 2 of the worlds superkids, hence why Fergie bought them before Real/Barca got them

Slightly different to Hutton who is rated by Rangers and Spurs fans

Cant join because of a 20 min appearance at his former club as a sub.

Fulham arent having the best of luck, eh?

I think this could be a blessing for them. You would have to wonder at the mentality of a player giving up a European run and a couple of domestic medals for a very very depressing looking relegation battle.

I'd be interested to see that, as you have no income from the Champions League, have spent highly on transfers (highest net in the Premier league this season), and gate recipts aren't going to be that high. Surely the club will shoulder huge debts when/if White Hart Lane is redeveloped.

How much of the money spent on rubbish has been recouped? A fair bit I'd say.

and Fergie...

from the Black Eyed Peas before she got over her meth addiction. ;)

Seriously though Fergie rates him. :p

and two perfect examples of why everyone thinks Man Yoo fans are *******! ;)

Say what you want, it's not me being arrogant or anything its pretty much fact. Fergie has said he rated him, but obviously not enough to take a risk on him now. So I'm sure he's far happier to see how he gets on at Spurs and then make a move IF he wanted him.

No United fans thinks Berbatov is definately joining Manchester United, and no United fans particularly want him either. We have two better strikers already and he'd only be useful as backup.

Completely agree Ripper - I do think in some games we need a completely different type of player to Rooney and Tevez though, Saha would be perfect if he was as agile and injury free as he used to be.

Maybe Manucho will be it, but even if he is doing well so far in the ACoN it will still be a risk, so an other proper striker is a must (maybe this local lad thats come into the senior squad in the last few weeks?)

I like Berba as a player, but he is too expensive and too moody to risk and I dont think he would suit the rest of the team (the swift breaks wouldnt work so well I have a feeling)

With Evra wanting this obscene payrise, and the problems with WB/GN on the other side we may need a couple of full backs during the summer.......

Berbatov would be amazing in a Man Utd team. Watching sunday and most of his flicks and touches weren't picked up on by the other Spurs players. He deserves to play in a better team that Spurs, not that i'd want him to go of course, just hope Spurs can get better players for him to work with!
