If you look into the sun that's the effect you'll get in reality mate, The FSX shot is also looking into the sun, it's also through heavy rain.

Why would they feel embarrassed, we're enthusiasts it's our job to get through as many cards as possible :)

Well I see it differently, for me it's about having enough knowledge/experience to choose the right card at the right time and not about buying everything, anyone can do that.

Thats your point of view, some people like to have personal experience with a wide range of cards, its much better than just reading up on them. It costs a lot of money, but thats what people have to be prepaired for if they want to go down the path of building pc systems, allthough if you sell at the right times you can reduce the loss, and through this process you can indeed gain lots of knowledge and learn valuable lessons.

not in my case

bit noisey at idle but only as in a slight annoying noise which is different pitch to my other fans

under load - can only just about hear it ramp up

But it changes so often there's no guarantee you'd have a card for longer than 3 months before a newer better model arrived.

My recent list of cards goes:

x850xt > 7800gt > 7950GX2 > 8800GTX > 2900XT > 2x 2900XT's > 3850pro 256mb > 6600gt 128mb (waiting for X2 release :() > 3850pro 512mb

It can actually benefit you buying and selling so often. If you time it right you can sell a card at full wack before a new range is released then either buy a card from that new range for a similar amount or buy your old card back for less. :)

As mentioned already an enthusiast wants to try the kit - reviews are useful indeed but as others have stated very few can always be trusted.

And you missed the point. Most of us go through the cards as we want the new tech to play with not because we're clueless and buy every card that comes out

I lost trust in reviews ages ago, honestly before I bought a 2900XT the reviews shown it to be pretty much better than a GTS640, but really it was not in my system it was a downgrade, some people it was an upgrade, but I kept the card for a while because I was trying to believe it was faster as the reviews said so but it wasent, should have sold it after the day I got it really for near enough what I bought it but just dont seem right that, only reason I havent got an X2 is because I cant really afford it at the moment.

I suppose you can use reviews as an estimate now but not a gaurantee on which card is going to be better, its always a risk.
