Foglights - a lost cause

Have to admit i drive with my headlights on all the time (to increase other road users chances of seeing me (their all blind in glasgow and keep crashing into taxis it seems)

but foglights, no pointless and illegal.

the US DOD should contact Skoda and paint their planes with the same paint i kid you not they must be invisible when on the road the amount of ours that have been t-boned, rammed or generally skelped

I hate foglights

Cars with them on really really annoy me.

Tiny weeny bit of mist on the motorway, on come the fogs.
Do they help? No.
Do they hinder? Yes

I don't see the problem either, if they're set up right they won't blind anyone, they deliberately point at and below straight ahead.

i dont understand this argument either. only when its a high up vehicle such as a 4x4 or lorry etc does it appear to be a problem. most cars are fine however.

ive never had a problem with them, probably as they point down towards the road :p

Don't even talk to me about fog lights.

I'm sure the percentage of people over the past few months driving with fog lights has almost doubled. It used to be just the odd chav trying to look cool, but now it's every other car.

The other day I was on the A19, totally clear weather, yet coming up the outside lane was no less than 10 cars with fogs on within 5 minutes, it really grinds my gears (much to the amusement of my mates who find it hilarious how angry I get) that so many people are so ignorant of the law.

Do they just turn every light switch in the car on?

Sorry, who are you?

Totally unnecessary. It's posts like that that drive people away from this place, well done on being a tit

Oh dear Fox..

Normally I just shove every light I have on to blind them.. soon to be having some spots on the front Grill... I know for a fact they hurt...

Agreed, little unnecessary he has every right to be here just as Fox and the next person does. We are all equal. There is no hierarchy here.

Just whack the full beams on, that'll learn 'em.

It's a pet hate of mine too... sidelights & foglights seems to be quite common up here. Some foglights aren't too dazzling, but others almost blind you :(

They don't blind me they don't really bother me and they don't really give me a rage. Rear fog lights are a bit more of a pain as at a glance it can be a bit deceptive (thinking they are braking).

The thing that does annoy me is when people forget to turn off their full beams when behind me or coming towards me, and my 2nd gripe is badly levelled headlamps.

But no... front fog lights don't bother me anymore - it's just not really enough of an issue. I have more other important things to get angry about.

What and potentially completely dazzle and potentially cause a massive crash?. Two wrongs don't make a right, flashing your fogs is the more sensible route. Foglights are very unlikely to cause an accident as they are so low down. A full high up beam to the face for a good few seconds definetely could

Sometimes I worry that OcUK is going down the drain (typically with keyboard warriors and young people as well as ignorant or ill educated people), then we have mature and sensible replies like this that makes me realise it's worth still posting here.
