FA Cup 5th Round *Spoilers*

Your back four were Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise... full of experience and ability.

Xabi Alonso, Lucas, Banayoun and Babel in midfield... okay some young talent there, but all on paper better than anything Barnsley should have been able to offer.

Kuyt and Crouch up front - both of whom should have been good enough to finish off Barnsley.
That does look a good team on paper.

Steve McClaren had a good England team on paper and couldn't get anything out of them. He lost his job.

Sure the players selected on paper were more than good enough to beat barnsley. But they didn't.

I do agree with your logic about the inter tie and those players are far more valuable in that tie. The bit of Tommy Smiths interview that really struck a note with me was the bit about it not even being entertaining at Anfield anymore.

I probably wont be bothering to go to any more games at Anfield this season other than the derby (am away for the Inter tie otherwise I would have been there). I don't mind sitting through 90 mins of good football then getting beat. Sitting through 90 mins of rubbish is something I will not tolerate.

The players performances definantly have been effected by all the speculation and all we can hope is that the yanks **** off soon.

I believe that he deserves another season but i can see how with whats gone on and if it has affected the players that it may be better for a fresh start.

I agree with you mate, he does deserve a clean slate and a chance next season with backing from new investors.

However, if you were him and you had the likes of Real Madrid etc knocking on your door with a promise of huge backing in the transfer market then you would take the opportunity and easy way out.

He is getting loads of stick here in Liverpool, most of it undeserved. If I was him I would tell the yanks to stick their job where the sun don't shine. But he wont do that because of the compensation from the contract. If the yanks don't sell up to DIC before the end of the season, they will fire him in the summer with an agreed compo package and bring some joker in.

:(

Im not convinced he'd get sacked by the Yanks (it looks pretty certain are off); they're not going to want to pay him off and won't want to **** off the fans anymore. I'd be suprised if DIC sacked him in the summer either as they're going to want to keep the fans on side too.

If we were to fail to qualify for the CL then fans opinion would sway and then there'd be an excuse to sack him.

From what I've read, DIC dont want him either, they think he's not up to the job

New owners means new re-organization and running of the club. Accompanied by this should be a new manager. I dont think DIC would be worried about getting rid of Benitez, I think the appointment of a new manager would be one of the first things they'll do.

Start from scratch, with a new board and a new manager. Get rid of all the doubts and troubles surrounding the club and create a positive, winning atmosphere. Then we can fully concentrate on winning things again.

Why do some Liverpool fans hate the American owners?
Its clearly Rafa who is screwing up your club.
What have they done but give him money to waste?

It is not Rafa fault we didnt win yesterday he put out a good team and they should have handled the business but Yanks are really no good for liverpool they should sell there shares and leave our great club alone and sell it to DIC Rafa deserves another season

Because they're lying backstabbing *****.

Money to waste? Torres and Babel wasted money then?

Torres - no.
Babel has promise but players who simply show promise are probably a luxury he couldn't afford.

Regardless, they actually want the club to succeed - purely so they make money sure but still.
Rafa on the other hand seems intent on forcing them to sack him so he gets a payout.
Either that or he really is inept.
They may not be ideal but they arn't the problem atm

Ignoring the Rafa love fest, I'd like to know how Southgate has hung onto the Boro job for so long.

best chairman in the country , maybe even world :p

he hasnt done "that" bad anyway tbf , had a few bad patches after loosing key players but what can you expect from a newbie manager

at the moment were playing pretty well anyway , just need someone to start putting the ball in the net because ive lost count of all the sitters weve missed

i cant really pick up on any huge mistakes hes made

How's that wanting the club to succeed? They only want to succeed on a personal level and that means making a profit for themselves.

I think you'll find the majority of Liverpool supporters disagree.

Out of interest why are people so in love with this DIC?
The way people carry on you would think they are the messiahs, about to swoop down and instantly transform the fortunes of Liverpool. Are they really guarenteed to be the saviours of the club?

Its more of a case of wanting the yanks out than DIC in, with it just so happening that DIC are interested.

They're certainly not guarenteed saviours but they can't be worse than the Yanks and they are very much investors however there is a difference between the 2.

The americans interest is just about making a fairly short-term profit where as DIC was set up to promote Dubai and to make Dubai non-reliant on oil in the long-term. You just have to look at the companies they invested in, HSBC and Sony to name just 2. They're investing in globally recognised companies which will provide a steady long-term investment not a quick buck.

Also their CEO is a known Liverpool fan who often attends games and has done for years.

I know most are thinking it and already said it but id like to add,
United vs Chelsea i also think it will be, united at home.
