oh dear......

No really... it is. This is just as horrible as many of the drug sentences the US dishes out quite regularly.
Two grams of pot is an absolutely tiny amount and locking someone up for four years is totally wrong regardless of where it happens. It's a waste of everyone's time, most sadly, poor ole' Grooverider.
There is indeed but it's on a sliding scale. You were implying the laws of other countries were non of our business. Well when those laws are unjust I think we have good right to make them our business.
Why is it wrong for me to believe that he broke the law and deserves punishment but at the same time that 4 years in a foreign prison is unjust?
Can someone tell me how you get caught for having traces of, or 2g of drugs. They would barely be able to see it, so unless you were acting suspiciously they wouldn't find it?
No it isn't.
You can see why on page 1.
No really... it isn't.
How can you seriously justify 4 years of a mans life for a very very very small amount of pot? The time does not fit the crime in any shape or form! Just because a country has a law does not make that law any less retarded. This is a good example of such a law.
I don't need to see page 1 again - thanks for the advice though.
You think that alcohol is legal because it 'dumbs down' and marijuana is banned because it does not??
its very simple to why governments do not like marijuana , it makes people who use it question , question authorities, rules, basically its very good for 'getting out of yourself' and seeing things in abstract way, its a 'drug' for the non conformist, and one thing which governments do not like is individuals who are free thinkers. those people are harder to control/influence as they are no longer part of the herd population.
alcohol { destructive , depressant, depletes health, dumbs down } LEGAL
marijuana { psychoactive stimulant, boundary dissolver, creative } ILLEGAL
who has a vested interest in keeping a restriction on marijuana, the government, and the people who are already herd like and get thier opinions from the t.v and newspapers.
it stupefies, its the anti of cannabis
a population who thinks for themselves is a population that is harder to control.
try not to reduce my post to a { this or this} argument, i said much more than that, but at the very fundamental level yes. alcohol is very destructive, does NOT make you think, it stupefies
lol This place makes me laugh, we moan when foreign people want to change our laws to suit them, we moan that we aren't tough enough on crime in the UK but then we complain when a foreign country's laws are harsher than ours. Oh, but only when it affects someone British.
people are too bloody apathetic and high to do anything about it anyway. Weed does not suddenly make everyone observant about the things happening around them. People take it to get high. Marijuana is hardly a "boundary dissolver".
If we are talking purely about which I'd rather try to control I'd take the country full of potheads over the country full of drunks any day.
