Interesting Day...

As I was reading I thought you were going to say you got in trouble for spamming, which I would understand to an extent, but that's just ridiculous! :p

I leave in 24 days like I said, so my mum's going to call the Gazette and see if they can slate them :p

I don't understand why on earth some people are in the teaching proffession when they so obviously despise children (for want of a better word).

I can recall when I was in secondary school (11-16) all of the teachers used to constantly over-react!

The highlight of which was when a head of subject threatened me with expulsion for sellotaping a malteaser to my face! (It was a schoolboy attempt to impersonate a teacher who had a rather conspicuous mole- cheeky, sure, but hardly a serious offence!)

You were in the wrong here mate, so I don't know what your mum has to complain about.

They can't discipline kids anymore, so they try to scare you into behaving by threats. If we still had the cane this could all of been dealt with in one short whack. ;)

Lesson of the day: Don't **** about on school property, if your head got the email then who else did?

In other news, Mike Luvs Sharon at work I'm going to email everyone in the company!! OMG I'm so cool!! :o

I'm sorry, but what? :o

You openly admit to using a school computer to send a message to everyone on the school email list about a friend without his permission.

It's not crime of the century, but you are still in the WRONG.

They can't do anything to discipline you, apart from shout empty threats to scare you into not doing it again.

Don't get your mum to bitch at them about it, just accept what you did and apologise. Then everyone is happy.

Well put

I got took to the headmasters once for switching a CRT Monitor off by its power button, my ***ICT*** teacher told me it could break it!!!!

Funnily enough I had to give formal warning to one of my staff today for accidentally sending a chain email to the whole of our London and SE area instead of just our team (they're next to each other on the global directory). Personally I would have just left it (she was embarrassed enough as it was), but my boss told me to do it, and she was told by her boss, etc. Seems someone high up has a thing about misuse of IT.

Only real issue is that I was due to give her a formal warning over sickness anyway. That makes two formal warnings in the space of days, so she could lose her job.

I'll get around it somehow, but it just goes to show that sometimes even the most trivial of things can have unexpected consequences.

WAY over the top. The college I went to classes mass emails as abusing the system/network, which is a breach of the contract you sign on your induction day. LMAO!

This thread reminds me of when I was back in school. Our form (class) was notorious, were regarded as the worst form in the whole year (about 15) if not the whole school. Not sure if we've been 'bettered' since. :p

The most ownage that happened was there was a replacement teacher in the class, the typical one that knows nothing about the subject. I think we (not me, I was a good lad ;) ) managed to have her storm out of class and not return within 10 minutes of the class starting.

I think teachers were afraid of us more than anything.

My mum was also annoyed by the fact that when I was off school monday because of an appointment at the doctors due to my back being recked again (I fractured my spine not so long ago and when I was lifting my bike into a van last week it popped and knacked up) when she wrote me a note saying I was at the doctors, they said they wanted to see an appointment card. This to me means they think my mum is lying although they both know fine well i've had back problems, and still do.

if your an A student going to college instead of your schools own 6th form (if they have 1) thats why they probably dont like you.

our IT department was stupid, every it lesson i would put badgerbadgerbadger on the projector and the teacher would just look confused and think he did it himself...lol
the best it related thing was downloading GTA onto the network, they stopped tht after like a day when they saw that nearly every person on a computer was playing it.lol

we always just got told, dont do it again or theyll ban us from computers. naturally they never did though. i think your headteacher or whoever overreacted must have some out of work problem going on and your the unlucky one....or when they were younger someone circulated a love letter about them and they were so embarassed they left school.

Do you not feel they slightly over reacted (if Sinque's account of the event is accurate that is)? They don't need to hand out empty-threats, they can punish him (I hated after-school detentions!).

It's seen as bullying, it's also abuse of the resources. If he was my employee, I'd sack him.

It's perfectly reasonable for them to ask to see an appointment card if you are asking for time off to go to one, especially if you haven't given any prior notice.

Of seeing most of them with kids/on benefits/no qualifications?

Ofcourse. ;)

I did great in GCSE mocks, which made me cocky. So come GCSE time I did barely any revision and failed most courses. I'm glad in a way as it made me knuckle down and now I've got the grades and qualifications I've been wanting for about 3-4 years. :)

Wow, are schools really this mickey-mouse these days?
An what the hell is 'coast' some new-speak buzzword?

What I hear about much of the national curriculum these days makes me glad I finished school (gcse/a levels) years ago.
Clearly the staff involved with this lost their grip on the situation when they started ranting; when I was at school the teachers who got the most respect and discipline from the kids were the ones who never lost their rag and in doing so maintained the teacher/student relationship. The phrase 'all mouth and no trousers' springs to mind. It's such an elementary level of control which is the responsibility of the teaching staff, that to let it slip so quickly makes me wonder about the condition of this country's education system and the calibre of students who are a result of it.

It seems Carl is his friend so "bullying" is a bit strong. If something similar happened in an office environment then I could see where you're coming from. This is a school though. Young lads get up to this sort of thing. Threatening to remove him from exams is just pathetic.
