Apple Store for Higher Education

Buy with HE discount, use for however long, then advertise it with the normal price so it looks like a bargain.

Bought mine for £1355, added my own RAM = less than the regular price for the same spec on Apple.com, if you add Apple RAM ;)

Hopefully, this month I can muster the cash and get me a Mac Pro on HE.. we'll see
 
I've decided, If I can afford the Mac Pro this month I'll buy.

Otherwise, I'll just wait until WWDC and with the extra cash I'll have saved I can get the max spec :D
 
The 3.0 upgrade under the HE store is something like £500 and the 3.2 is around £850.

Mad for the sake of .2Ghz bumps. Bragging rights and all that would come with it. ;)

I doubt I'd go all the way to 3.2GHz, but I have seen benchmarks where the 3.0GHz model is faster than the 2.8GHz
(faster enough to warrant the extra cash IMO :o)

I was thinking about waiting more so I could get a 30" Display and some nice RAM. Possibly even a bump in the specs, come June.
 
Actually no, I'm using the missus laptop these days and they're long gone.

I do remember reading articles on Ars Technica, Barefeats.com and Engadget though.

Hard to find a direct Harpertown comparison to be honest :(
