Did you use NV's stability test or ATI tool to find the artifacts for more than 1 hour? Passed 3DMark means nothing even with 100+ rounds.

Also, the limit I was talking about is for non-modded (inc. VID mods) G92, although I was only talking about everything I know and from my experience.

I kinda doubt Victor has tried any games, so its about as relevant as an of the bench screens we all see tbh. But to answer you question, it was set 24/7 to 800/2100, happily ran Crysis et-al at 830. For stability I like the ozone3d fur test, I've yet to find anything that pushes quite so hard, though playing Crysis it a pretty tough workout. The stock GT's without any bios VID mods seemed to be around 740 from what I saw.

At the end of the day the 9800GTX is just a 8800GTS G92 with maybe a few better electronic parts inside enabling higher overclocks.

Rumoured prices are that the 9800GTX is to be the same price as the 8800GTS G92 with 8800GTS becoming eol wiht a 9800GTS out in April.

However, just like GT and GTS on launch I would expect a premium on the GTX to begin with until the 9800GTS comes out.

But at say around £250 there will be plenty of people who will buy it just to clock it to 900/2250/2538. For the money it ought to clobber an Ultra at those clock speeds.

Is it worth buying if you have a decent overclockable 8800GT or 8800GTS G92? Probably not. If you are looking at an upgrade from an older generation card then yes IMHO.

Hell, I might even be tempted if I could get £200 for my 8800GTS G92 - just for the better overclocks.

However 10% performance gain for 25% more money is not a sensible buy but then that has always been the case at the high end.

Only on OCS - every where else is a premium. They are selling 2nd hand on the bay for more money than ocs is charging new. Half tempted to buy 20 and flog them on!

For some reason I couldn't see all the rest of thread when I posted.

Now read and now understand.

So hardly any better than a GTS unless you mod.

So definitely not worth the money unless it does come out at same price as a GTS G92
