Erm, did you guys see the same results I did?

It was pathetic. 9600 GT sli is almost as good for much less. You'd have to be crazy to even entertain the possibility of buying this thing. The card is an insult.

I wanna see 8800 Ultra tri sli against quad sli GX2. Old 8800 tri sli will probably still beat this lame quad gimmick at higher resolutions (or be near as makes no difference).

GX2 FTL

The 9800GTX and GX2 are among worst cards ever released imo.

yeah your money would be better off spent buying a new SLI board and 2x 9600 GT (if you don't have a sli board like me) and getting close performance to the 9800gx2 and saving a good £100 or more.

Its true though, it is 2x cards bodged together, theres no getting away from it, the X2 is a single card. :D

not this again....
its a single card solution, they could stick 100000 gpu;s on it and if it only uses the 1 slot it is still a single card solution

Holy cow at the x2+1 performance in oblivion
seems 2x9600 gt/x2+1 are the way to go though

Much too expensive but you can't argue with the numbers, it's by far the fasting single card available and I guess now takes the place of the overpriced 8800Ultra. Also, looking at how the 3870X2 and 8800Ultra trade blows the 9800GTX will probably be it's direct competitor.

Thing is when you have the fastest card available you can almost charge what you like, ATI can only dream right now of being in a simalar position.

Sucks for us, but lines nvidias deep pockets with more cash. :(

The price premium is not worth it for the GX2 though, also, ATi have stated that they don't want to produce cards that are over $500, so they don't want to be in that position, said by ATi itself. I doubt many people who know what they're doing will buy one of these, especially as you can get X2s for just a bit more, and considering X2s are dropping in price regularly it'll only seem less worth the premium.

Oh I agree but again looking at how the 8800Ultra and 3870X2 trade blows the 9800GTX is more likely to be it's direct competitor, so people will have a choice over a single or dual gpu solution at the same performance and price point and theres only going to be one winner there.

For the price of one of these, you could get a whole new system 4GB, 9600GT SLI system :)
