Xbox360 Controller - The Best or big failure?

Another friend got a HDMI Xbox360 and her D-Pad is as bad as mine. Maybe it was a one off thing, but I'm sure his D-Pad was a lot more responsive, it felt light and delicate.

It still wasn't as good as the PS D-Pad though.

Whoever says that the Nintendo 64 pad was good has earned my eternal disrespect.
I mean... what the hell - one thumbstick in the middle of the pad, stuck out like some sort of .... And then there's weird button placements... not to mention the fugly colour scheme.
I used to think it was ok, but tried using it the other day and it felt horrible

Maybe his was broke, but by being broke has actually become better :p

That is weird though. But yeah, I think PS2 D-Pads were pretty good... I also like the Logitech Rumblepad 2's D-Pad, it's pretty responsive and feels quite nice.

i just like that it is so easy to connect to your comptuer, so when the xbox 360 goes out of data least i can still make use of the controler for emulators and what not

Yep the 360 controller is a winner, love the thumbstick positioning and triggers however that dpad is god awful. Im sure Microsoft will rectify this with the next console.

The 360 controller simply owns. About the right size and shape for my hands, and the weight it about right. I can't use the playstation controller because I feel like I will break them.

The shoulder buttons need changing too. They don't give a decent tactile response and they're hard to reach when resting your fingers on the triggers.

It makes games that use all four shoulder buttons (i.e. Pro Evo) harder to play.

id rate the GC pad much higher than 360 pad, but the 360 pad comes close second, then the ps pad in third. ive used a ps pad since god knows when and it feels like a part of me :p

When my fingers are on the triggers, they are on the bumper buttons too, so they're perfect for me.

Microsoft control pads have always had really terrible D-Pads. They have for as long as I can remember.

The 360 is a nice controller, but I actually prefer the Sixaxis. I just find it more comfortable - I find the analogue sticks on the 360 controller to be a tad small.

I do think the PS controllers favour people with big hands though. My girlfriend prefers the 360 one, she says it's because she can reach the buttons easier.

Um...

quite possibly the worst controller ever made. I don't think it even qualifies as a "controller" as it's almost impossible to control anything with.

Horrible plasticky, tacky build, analogue stick thing that never really works as it's too small. The actual controller itself is far too big and doesn't grip right in your hand.

Nintendo deserve shooting for tarnishing such a good console with such a poor method of control.

Not forgetting the serrated edge analog stick = sore thumb. It wasnt too bad back then would probably avoid now though.
