Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Great game but i have a few points.
1) Wheres the party system? after playing Halo3 and COD4 I am really missing this it makes getting full rooms with your freinds and the teams sortted soo much easier.

2) Slow down, Its not location specific it is almost like a memory leak problem and comes after so much playtime for me anyway. A quick reset and its ok.

3) the game has a BIG host advantage. On coop your bullets seem to land better and maybe its the same in multiplayer. But at least I can an acheivement saying "The House Always Wins" - very apt.

4) I love the first vegas but I have a few of the same maps here, and even some of th eold classics form ravensheild, but it cant help feeling like a mappack. Same couls have been said for GRAW2 I guess but i think GRAW2 was much more of a step up from GRAW1 than this is....

The guys that are playing this online...are you on 360 or PS3. Im on PS3 and I can only connect to a server once in a blue moon. Is all fine and dandy in the land of 360? Might have to get mine fixed faster and buy V2 for that :s

Balls, might just trade the PS3 in tomorrow then and get another 360. Whats online like? Ive only managed to play 2 matches in..........4 days. Megatron.

Online is pretty crap unless you know the people.

Trying to join a ranked match is awful, servers are always full when you try to join them. Then in ranked matches it kicks every one out after wards... crap.

Finally managed to finish the SP mode off, was a bit disappointed with it tbh but then i guess i was expecting too much lol.

Going through the terrorist hunt, didnt really bother with the first Vegas terrorist hunt but this should keep me entertained somewhat.

If anyone fancies doing a co-op session with me then by all means send me an invite...i should be online sometime tommorrow..probably after 2pm-ish.

Me, Si, Zico, Soul and Doug have been playing co-op (4 player) terror hunt. Really good fun, finally got the achievement today, completing all of the maps on realistic :)

If you need a hand, give us a shout :)

Wont let my play online (PS3), keeps saying that is unable to connect to the server or something like that, any help? (ive only just got Vegas 2 and Pro evo worked fine)

There's a bunch of ports listed in the manual, make sure these are set in your router's port forwarding, after doing this you can occasionally connect; better than nothing though.

Scort.

Yeh cheers mate I've done all that but still doesn't connect to nearly all games. Guess its either wait out on a patch or get my 360 up and running again

K as I mentioned previously in the thread I purchased two copies of R6V2 so me and my bro could play together.

However getting us both in the same server is such a chore due to it frequently displaying the numbers wrong and when we do finally get in a server that is green ping it is still a lag fest! :(

My bro suggested that I should return them both and get store credit and another copy of call of duty 4.

Will the purple game shop allow me to exchange these two copies for store credit (mario kart and gta4 are the only other games I want atm) and a copy of cod4 or will they give me hassle :(?

Thanks

Hayley

I know what you mean, you could even stick the PS3 on DMZ and it still bombs you out of 8/10 games.

What me an a mate are having to do, in order to get co-op and terrorist hunt working, is to go back to XMB, then sign out of PSN and back in - this seems to allow a reconnection; but sometimes you'll only be connected fro 5 minutes :(

I think all these issues are the Ubisoft hosted servers, as I don't think that PS3 is peer to peer like 360.

Scort.

It's worth a shot, if it's the PS3 version you have, I guess you have cause to return - it states that it has "network players" but it doesn't work half of the time.

Scort.

This game is well buggy.

Because i have played the previous game i got an xp bonus at the start, because of this i don't unlock the achievement for reaching private first class, and maybe the other ranks!?!?

Yeah same here. Ah well...it's a buggy piece of rubbish!

I can't help but compare it to CoD4 which worked so well out of the box. Granted, different style of game, but CoD4 just works so well when it comes to online play (360 version) and did so from the day of release.

A competitor is offering R6 Vegas 2 for £25 when you buy any new or pre-owned PS3 or Xbox 360 game.... sounds like a good deal? Think it'd be worth it? Is the PS3 version as good as the 360? Any other game you could suggest to buy along with it too?

My experience of Vegas2 for PS3 so far....good SP, more of the same. Ive had no frame rate issues like some people. The only major problem at the moment is MP. Ive managed to play literally 4 games online, and most of them i got booted out of before the match was over. Some real issues going on PS3 server-wise at the mo.

As I keep saying how soon people forget....

http://news.filefront.com/call-of-duty-4-ps3-being-updated-online-issues-ironed-out/

The infinity ward forum was full of people having issues in its first week or so of release.

I bought it on the day of release, NO issues at all on the X360. Never has been and no patches were needed.

I know you like the R6 games and seem to dislike COD. However you can't deny how much easier it is to get online with COD4 than R6V2. R6V2 should have just copied the COD or Halo3 matchmaking systems, it has plenty of time to see what works yet seems to have ignored it and follows the same type of system that I was using 8 years ago when I was playing Red alert 2 online on the PC. I dont want to keep picking rooms to play in to either be told the room is full or I cannot connect.

I want to setup or get in a party and you stay in that party with mates, either playing the same people ala COD or playing different teams like in Halo.

I hate this ranked or player stuff, its as if we are professional gamers or something. I don't care for that I just wanna have fun with friends online. Otherwise you end up getting team killed like last night when I got in. Some stupid yank wiped us all out at the start cause his mates were on the other team. Idiot.

Whilst I'm here: Don't the weapons sound crap? :p
