Patience people.

Have pity upon those of us that sold our Q6600's back in January in anticipation of the Q9450's appearing in early February.

The irony of me not being patient when I suggested to be patient to everyone last week does not escape me :) I know have a Q6600 though to build a machine, will probably sell it and get the fastest penryn I can get at the end of the year. Guess I'm different from most people here as the machine I have at the moment is about 3-5 years old :/

Can anyone in OCUK shed some light regarding the official release date of this product please?

I don't think it is ethical of OCUK to just keep quiet like this. I have been waiting for this product for ages, if there is still no stock on the rumoured release date ( 28th march ), then I might just get a Q6600 and be done with it.

Well the 9300 is available now which seems to outperform the Q6600 quite a bit, unless you OC the Q6600 to around 3.6GHz ish

I'm still a little worried about the L2 size though. yea its only 2 mb compared to the q6600 but next to the q9450 i'm wondering what the performace hit will be.

that's something i'm concerned about also, as i'm not immediately going to overclock it, but i believe it will improve upon the Q6600 but will the 6MB extra in the 9450 make enough difference to warrant the extra money?

Read that earlier, does look good to me, and as i said will not be overclocking immediately, which is why i'm thinking the Q9300 maybe a good purchase for me, jjust the issue of will 12MB Cache make such a difference to general use/gaming?

same for me, if its only 5-10%ish then i'd probably go for a q9300.

Exactly, and i'm trying to save as much money as poss. I had my heart set on a Q6600 but the 9300 does look appealing so i'll see what the situation is when i get some more money coming in, wait for a new job til i get a new cpu :(

My Q9300 arrived today POD Time: 12:42

Should hopefully have it running sometime later today!
