Oh no! Forced to game on my pc again...

I'm still impressed, how many hours did you spend playing? I'm 5-6 hours in and only reached underground snowy bit were i've found some survivors and got my hands on a tank.

Hard to say how much time I spent.... but a lot :D

Started Friday night, and got couple of hours in. then spent many hours on Saturday and Sunday gunning through them.

Sky was down, so apart from the odd DVD to give the other half some tele time I got in quite a few hours over the weekend :)

Shamefully, no... but I am still new at controlling FPS games using controller, so I am still getting my butt handed to me on a platter often :D

You got XBox Live?

Team up with someone (not 4 people as that makes it a bit easy) and hammer Legendary on Halo 3. You should be used to the controls by then ;)

Well, I only have a 7900gs currently... got rid of all my high-end stuff cause wanted to get away from pc gaming. It's still enough to max the game out at 1680 x 1050 though, I think.

Its just that I am totall sick of sitting on the pc for gaming.

So, can anyone tell me more or less how long the campaigns are on normal difficulties for each of the games?

i played halo 1 on my old laptop with integrated graphics

passable framerate

any recent discrete gfx card should make it look sweet

So how does it work? Is it just the same as playing through the campaign solo, just with someone running through with you?

Never played a game co-op before....

Pretty much. 4 players online going through the campaign on a high difficulty and plenty of banter/team killing.

I completed Legendary with krono and crew online when Halo 3 was released in one sitting (never again!) and it's one of the best gaming experiences I've had.

I've givin up on single player Halo. The level design is abismal, i have no idea why this was praised so highly on the Xbox, surely there were better FPS on the xbox let alone the PC. It's just the same textures and rooms and enemies again and again and again. The flood were intersting to fight for the first 5mins but then quickly got boring again. Half life and the original Unreal were so much better in terms of level design and holding interest.

Agreed... but 2 is way better.

Well, I finally finished 2 last night. Took a lot longer than I thought it would. Still I had fun for most of it. The first half/two thirds were much better though. After that I found the "story" a little harder to make sense of, and then the reapeating level design seemed to raise its head again.

Had a quick play on 3. Wow! After playing Halo 1 and 2 which are decidedly ugly games by todays standards, it was a joy to get back to something that looked pretty :D

Despite the fact that I was only going to have a quick play, was on it for at least an hour. Handles much better than the first two. Glad the assault rifle is back.

Hopefully I can get some good gaming time this weekend and finish it. Then I can try some multiplayer, cause haven't done any multiplayer gaming on the box yet...

Glad you enjoyed it - play through them again if you have time to make sense of the story, even now when I play through them I still notice little things which add to the story, you know the bit "The Icon" when you're falling down the massive pipes and are chucked out into the warzone with the sentinels and the flood? And the massive lift gets blasted and goes hurteling into the scenery? I didnt notice that until atleast my 10th playthrough of the game :p Theres loads of little things which add to the story.

Im suprised you preferred the first two thirds, I would say I preffered the last third as thats when we see the covenant becomming corrupt etc. Faviourite level has to be "High Charity" where the flood have almost taken it over! Gives me a warm feeling inside :p

I kind of agree about the repeating level design although for the stories sake its meant to be like that, if by repeating you mean backtracking then yes I can agree - otherwise no! When you play a level in a game, you cant expect every room to be different

Don't think I could play through them again. I have a long history of never finishing games, let alone repeating them - a trend which seems to have been on PC. On the 360, have been pretty good at finishing so far...

I will read the books to get the full jist of the story - already have the first one. If I like it, will buy the others :)

Actually after my last post i did go back and finish Halo 1. Just for the sake of it in the end. I'm about to try Halo 2 this weekend

Much better than 1 in my opinion.

Though am really enjoying 3 now. Was going to play laods tonight, but my friends made me drink more than I wanted, and don't enjoy much of anything other than sleeping after a few pints.

Though I am a little ashamed that I was sitting there in the pub thinking I jsut wanted to go so I could play.

I think I have become addicted to gaming on my 360. I was alwats a very casual pc gamer, and hardly ever even finished a game. now I seem to be playing a lot more, and want to see every game through to its conclusion.
