Thats according to condell? The media loves stories about muslims, so most of the time if a person has commited a crime (and he's supposedly muslim) it gets mentioned in the article that he's a muslim - when that has nothing to do with the crime. You dont hear many stories mentioning the word christian when it comes to most people do you?
A lot of the time people havent studied islam and take the word of the media and what others say to be the truth. A lot of people quote the laws of saudi arabia and use them as an argument against islam. HOW THE HECK CAN YOU TAKE A COUNTRY'S LAWS AND SAY THAT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ISLAM TEACHES? You wouldnt say that all of america's laws are based on the bible, but this is exactly what people say when talking about Iran or saudi etc.
I think you're talking about simplified arguments against Islam. Taking a simplified argument is not representative of the criticisms of Islam, but simplified arguments are often used both for and against Islam and in my opinion only serve to excite people who already believe that Islam is good/bad rather than serve to analyse the situation.
No-one has jurisdiction over what Islam definitely IS or ISN'T and I think that Iran believe what they are doing is un-Islamic when they execute homosexuals. Islam as a whole seems to be in general agreement on many things that the West fundamentally disagrees with a often considers primitive.
Have you ever thought to yourself 'why is islam the fastest growing religion in the world?' You must believe that people are stupid, why would over a billion people choose to live with such a harsh and violent religion? (according to the media)
Islam ISN'T the fastest growing religion in the world, nor the West. I don't think there are official figures on world religions, although I've seen statistics that suggest that Buddhism or Wicca are the fastest growing religions in the West.
If islam preached hate then wouldnt there be a war all over the world right now? Think about it.
That isn't necessarily true - and I don't think a homosexual facing execution would agree with you.
