Pat Condell on Fitna

Thats according to condell? The media loves stories about muslims, so most of the time if a person has commited a crime (and he's supposedly muslim) it gets mentioned in the article that he's a muslim - when that has nothing to do with the crime. You dont hear many stories mentioning the word christian when it comes to most people do you?

A lot of the time people havent studied islam and take the word of the media and what others say to be the truth. A lot of people quote the laws of saudi arabia and use them as an argument against islam. HOW THE HECK CAN YOU TAKE A COUNTRY'S LAWS AND SAY THAT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ISLAM TEACHES? You wouldnt say that all of america's laws are based on the bible, but this is exactly what people say when talking about Iran or saudi etc.

I think you're talking about simplified arguments against Islam. Taking a simplified argument is not representative of the criticisms of Islam, but simplified arguments are often used both for and against Islam and in my opinion only serve to excite people who already believe that Islam is good/bad rather than serve to analyse the situation.

No-one has jurisdiction over what Islam definitely IS or ISN'T and I think that Iran believe what they are doing is un-Islamic when they execute homosexuals. Islam as a whole seems to be in general agreement on many things that the West fundamentally disagrees with a often considers primitive.

Have you ever thought to yourself 'why is islam the fastest growing religion in the world?' You must believe that people are stupid, why would over a billion people choose to live with such a harsh and violent religion? (according to the media)

Islam ISN'T the fastest growing religion in the world, nor the West. I don't think there are official figures on world religions, although I've seen statistics that suggest that Buddhism or Wicca are the fastest growing religions in the West.

If islam preached hate then wouldnt there be a war all over the world right now? Think about it.

That isn't necessarily true - and I don't think a homosexual facing execution would agree with you.

Explain why some "westerners" convert to islam then. They must be mad to follow such a primitive and backward religion.

Not the greatest argument ever, some people believe the World is ruled by lizards (to use David Icke as an example) so what people choose to believe isn't always supported by unquestionable logic. That is why it is a faith.

managed o watch half the film while my boss was out of the room. this guy has never read any of the Koran and seems extremely narrow minded and seems to think just because he watches the news thinks he know everything.

just my view

You're making a lot of assumptions merely because people disagree with you.

Not really. The majority of this country do not practice their religion (whatever it may be). I believe thats why they find it so hard to accept islam. Islam is an abrahamic religion and as such has a lot in common with christianity and judaism

Yep, he just appeals to those who already hold his narrow view of the world.

Why don't the nice muslims make a new religion, break away from that fundamentalist stuff.

I can't see why they would want to be associated with such laughable delusion.

You're mistaken - the only rules put in place on 'practising religion' are ones put in place by man. You don't need to go to Church to be a Christian, and if you think so you are missing the point.

The only revert of note are Yvonne Ridley and Cat Stevens - one is suffering from Stockholm syndrome and the other hasn't written a decent tune since he changed.

Unfortunately people is this country would rather worship money, alcohol, drugs, "idols", media etc :[

You can't tell that he's never read the Koran and his points on women and homosexuals are valid.

Yes, because they lead to political stability and away from mass persecution.

Manipulation more like, Pat says he wants to live in world of peace etc but it can't possibly come from those things because they harm you physically and physiologically, peace can't come from religions either because of the differing viewes etc, even Islam is internally victim to this

Probably for the same reasons that the so called "community leaders" refuse to publicly condemn any acts of terrorism carried out in the name of their allegedly peaceful and tolerant religion.
