I think the OP is a nice enough car, especially for a 1st one. Keep it original, look after it and it should provide plenty of fun for very little cost.
When I was a teenager your first car was always a banger, and usually a 1.4 or less. You didn't mind because its the freedom it brings thats the biggest joy to owning your first car.
You have to taste the rough to appreciate the smooth. The saxo has reminded me of that - whenever I get back in the Focus I'm reminded of just what a great car it is. Seems a lot of people on this forum will go through their lives only ever driving great cars, and strangely that makes me sad.
