Anyone watched Vexille yet. Saw it last night and it is very gd, comparable to appleseed ex machina, as it is the same producers, but overall well paced and some v.good action scenes.
Recommended.

yes saw it a few weeks ago.Agree with you about it reminding me of Appleseed too but with more mecha/power suits
Amazing cgi i thought as well :)

Anyone seen Code geass? im thinking about watching the second series as its jsut started, but is it better to watch the first series beforehand, as ive not seen any episodes of it?

im looking forward to macross frontier, after seeing the first ep, im wating for the rest of the series to start. :)
Also im working my way through gundam 00, on ep 14 atm (no spoilers pls!)

Just ordered Full Metal Panic complete series for £14.98, is it any good?

Mind telling me where you got that from? It's a good price.

Also, while I'm here, what shops would you guys recommend for anime action figures and stuff? I'm after a good quality Guts action figure/statue and I'm not sure of the ebst place to look. I've tried tokyotoys and forbidden planet.

I haven't seen Code Geass but everything I have seen/heard about it has struck me that it looks to be quite good. I see that the original series and the new second series have both been licensed by Bandai so I could well pick them up when they get released on DVD, (assuming that with all the other series I want which have also been licensed and are awaiting release mean that I can afford to pick them up!).

Watched Kanon disk 3 this evening, very sad but also quit amusing in places :)

Having to have a break from watching things for the next few weeks as this time tomorrow I'll be on a plane to Japan :D

Just finished watching this mint anime called Orphan. Its about magic and a journey to help reverse a curse so to speak i thought it was mint. Did any of you see it as well if so did you enjoy it too?

Hope some of you Anime/Manga fans can help me out here... it's my nephew's birthday tomorrow and I'm looking to get him a present, although he won't receive it until I visit Paris in May.

Anyway, I'm looking for any Hikaru No Go (hope I spelt that correctly) books after volume 18 and in English. Where would be the best place to buy these? Thnx.

Viz only list up to book 11 as being out at the moment, with 12 coming out in May.
I'm not sure how that translates to volumes though (I know for example the Gunsmith Cats books had multiple "volumes" per book).

As a general rule I tend to find either www.anime-on-line.com (or is it co.uk?), and forbidden planet or Amazon fairly good for getting manga, but I don't buy much Manga.

To be honest I think that this is unlikely to be very good. I can't remember the last hollywood remake that I have liked and I doubt that even Speilberg is likely to get the feel for GiTS correct.

(by the way .... ohmygod I went to Akihanbra earlier this week ... I could have spent a great deal of money there, (I was very restrained and only picked up a couple of books ... mostly due to suitcase room), hit another shop in Hiroshima earlier and picked up some more soundtracks including Clannad which Amazon JP wouldn't ship to the UK. Should be going to Nipponbashi(sp) I think the area is in Osaka at the beginning of next week for more Anime and Manga fun (if anyone has any suggestions ;)). The Manga Museum in Kyoto must be good if you can read Japanese as it has something like 200,000 manga books you can just browse and read at will!)

GITS Live action could be good if they
A: Stick to the story - don't make it suitable for U or dumb down the characters
B: Don't try and make it into a Matrix clone
C: Get some decent actors/actresses in
D: Get a decent budget

Personally I'll wait and see, but suspect it'll probably be fairly rubbish.

I finally finished one of my DVD units today (erm 18 months since I drew up the plans), and it doesn't look too bad in my room :)
I've been watching Gunslinger Girl which is exceedingly good, next up is either Slayer Try or Samurai Gun I think.

Electric ant, i've not caught any of Macros Frontier yet, hopefully it'll be better than Zero (which was pretty but not much else), and from what i've heard we might actually see a western release of this one - something to do with various bits being renamed/logo'd in what appears a fairly blatant effort to get out from Harmony Gold's claim to own the rights to various things in the west (UN Spacey etc).

I've been watching Gunslinger Girl which is exceedingly good.

I quite enjoyed it with the atmosphere and music but I thought some of the character development was pretty poor bringing some characters but not really doing anything with them.

I just finished Trinity Blood and enjoyed that with some very good animation in it.
