****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

If your enjoying the game I would delete the save and just carry on.

Lets face it, the real reason to keep playing is get your hands on the F1 car, some of us will have the patience to do that, others won't :p

True - the only reason I keep going and going is because I want that F1 car. If I load up the save file and play with the F1 2007 for a while I don't know if I will have the motivation to play through the rest of it.

just got this game yesterday any tips/pointers. I take it you aren't expecting me to trawl through 14 pages of drivel? :p

I bought the Alfa romeo then realised I can't participate in 1/2 the beginners events :o

I've won the 1st two races but the Yakuza (spelling) track is wiping me out the other cars seem to have better acceleration on the straight, still I'm glad it's not TOO easy and will take some getting used to.

Yakuza? lol

Suzuka. ;)

Use the car you have for now and do the races it lets you to build up some cash then go and buy the cars that each of the other races require. Slipstreaming is the key... and taking the corners easy and not ending up in the sand.

GT5p feels a lot more civilized to me than previous incarnations. :)

Brake early, slow in and fast out is best, also when accelerating drive behind another car to catch a slipstream which makes you go faster on the straight.
Learn the braking points on the track and go thru the corners as fast as possible without going on the grass.

Another question, what car do you get for completing S-class?

I have done all the races apart from the Mine's Skyline and F40 ones but I'd hate to spend 700k of my 880k just to win a crappy car and a few quid as I also want to go on racing until I have 2 million. (the final Suzuka 700p race was a bit hard in a tuned Elise 111R :o )

dont spend it! keep it for the F1, you know you want to ;) provided you aint already got the F1 :o i'm only on 560k, and im repeatedly doing the s class race that get you 30,000 quid fro going round in a circle lol.. a bit of a grind but im sure it will be worth it once i reach 2 mil. in answer to your question, im not sure which car you win :p

You need to complete S class to be able to buy the F1 car anyway so you have to buy those two cars unfortunately.

The idea was that the F12007 is like "godmode" and it wouldnt be much of a challenge if you just complete the game with F1, apart from car specific races.
I understand that, but would it be so hard to put in a limitation that you can only use the F1 car in a race you already won?

I hate having to spend 700k now for two races and then have to make 2 million to get the F1, they should have added more races.

@Polyphony Digital, grinding is for RPG's, not racing games

dammit! i've been grinding all day to get 2 million to find out i have to buy the F40 anyway...urgh, what a terrible car to drive. oh well. i dunno if i can be bothered to finish the rest of the races off today and get to 2 million again. we'll see..

that setup isnt the best and was for the ordinary elise not the tuned version
....il post the setup for the tuned version tomorrow if anybody is stuck in S class races.....besides the last race is damn tough so a good setup is needed even for a bronze it seems.

I actually went round a few laps and got used to the handling and did the race i wanted in it only managed bronze but that was good enough.

Yeah that part of the game they really need to change, as i said before races where u use specific cars to complete they should give u a healthy amount of cash or atleast give u the cost of the car back.

Mate got this when it came out and on the HD tv it's just pure sex. It's just irritating that it isn't the full game... I want to modify my Dodge Viper :p

The excessive grinding has put me off this. That save game file is looking mighty tempting.

I've just used it, backed up my proper save though in case I want to go back to do it properly. Only thing was spending a couple of minutes setting the options and controller mappings back for my setup.

The F12007 is erm, rapid :p

Any save game files that work the with PSN GT5P?

hope so, as soon as one's posted i'll be installing it. I always used to enjoy test driving the cars before buying - now thats stopped, i want the save game. Not gonna grind, and grind for the F1
