I've decided I'm going to buy a PS3 at last. Any games that I simply *must* try?

I've got a normal (non hd) tv downstairs and 2407 upstairs. Catch is, I don't really want to use the dvi on the 2407... so what am I best using? I suppose I could use vga on the screen, but is there a better compromise? I'll have to use scart/composite on the tv downstairs until I can afford a hd plasma too! :(

Thanks.

There are plenty of demos on the PSN, but straight off I'd recommend Uncharted as an exclusive as well as GT5Prologue if you're into driving games.

Do you have an Xbox360?

Then there are loads of games I'd recommend picking up as you won't mind the inferior ports.

Burnout Paradise
Call of Duty 4
The Darkness
Resistance Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Ratchet & Clank
Assassins Creed
Virtua Fighter 5

There are plenty of others, Abooie has posted a list here several times.

Awesome... I'm looking at youtube clips of them all now. I'm really waiting for the new Star wars game.

Any idea about connectivity to my 2407? I can't seem to find a hdmi->dvi connector that has positive reviews.

You could always use a Component cable. I do when using my 2405, though I usually use my HDTV. I know Wyrdo here on these forums uses a HDMI > DVI cable.

Nope, it's not. 1080p is massively overrated for games. It actually makes very little difference at all bar to frame rates in some cases.

Not really. Watching 1080p stuff in comparison to 720p stuff doesn't make much difference.
Yes it does, depending on the bitrate and quality of film it can. And just get any HDMI to DVI cable, they're all pretty much decent enough.

There's just an extra sharpness at 1080p that i notice. Don't get me wrong 720p is damn good. but 1080p is much better for me.

i've always been known to have great vision, guess because i do small scale model building for most of my life
