****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

GT5 came up with an update which is downloading now. Anyone else have it? This was after the 2.3 PS3 update.

Not perfect AA but there is a notable improvement which i'm quite impressed with. Also improved the accuracy on certain car models.
Why wasn't FSAA in the original release?
Does it cause the framerate to dip below 60fps more often?

@FirebarUK, I use the D-pad and buttons, which is strange as I used the analog stick on Burnout Paradise but for some reason I get better control in GT5 with the D-pad, also it might be that the digital controls are pressure sensitive (but less pressure sensitive than GT4 or that might just be a misunderstanding)

Hmm, had a spot of bother last night in the first S Class race, which is a tuned 630 point race. The best I managed in several hours was 4th, though I ended up trying a whole bunch of cars, i.e. the Vette Z06, Elise 96, Mitsu Evo, Ferrari 430 and BM M3. Whilst that sounds like stupidly disparate group, the tuning option (in theory) makes them a lot more equal. Didn't feel like that in practice, and I found myself lapping the M3 considerably faster than anything else. Anyone got a good recommendation for other vehicles to try? I did wonder if a tuned NSX might fit the bill.

In addition, I'm still in the dark as to the implications of the handling tuning options such as Camber. Any recommendations?

Ill put it on my site for ya.

click

Turns out the one i linked you too is a different to the one i used, i think i used the one posted in here, should be the same thing, if you want it i can just .rar it up from my ps3 for you, but i expect it to be the same bar car colours.

nope, this computer wont let me download zips, dammit work policy's!!! lol

I did all the S-Class races in a Lotus Elise 111R/Tuned (At the dealers under Gran Turismo), what I changed regarding tuning was to lower front downforce (by 5 IIRC), increased front camber 0.5 (helps turning) set max turning angle to 33 from 40, power and weight to the max the points allow and change the gear ratios so that the car just maxes out in top gear at the end of the straight.

Maybe you need a specific car you do not own?

must be a prize car of some description (Im guessing for the S catagory of events) as there are about 10 dealership races I cant compete in currently

If this is the case I can understand if they were the performance end of the scale - but some are Citreon, Subaru Mitsubishi etc (admittedly Sub and Mitsu are edging towards performance, but not like Ferrari - which I have unlocked and won!!)

Only got TVR to win and I have won all the Dealership races that I can enter

Love the sound of the mines skyline. Going to get surround sound to hear it properly.
I do not like that at all, I much prefer the high rpm Honda or a Ferrari.

Another thing, I did the update yesterday, went into a race and was greeted by a nice long image corruption on the screen, kinda like the one you get when you overclock the videocard too far, stopped the race and after going into another race it was gone and I havent seen it after that so fingers crossed.

I did an offline race straight after the update and everything was ok - hope your PS3 isnt on the way out

I did three races after that and I haven't seen it again, also I played Burnout Paradise and PAIN after GT5 and no sign of corruption so it looks like my PS3 is fine.

I hope it isn't going to break as it is a launch 60GB one and I use the backwards compatibility and I wouldn't like to get a 40GB one in return if it breaks.

Does anyone get weird corruption for a split second every now and then when playing in the interior view? Been getting it since release day, it only happens very rarely so i'm not too concerned, just curious really.

That is exactly what I was talking about in my previous posts, I got it after the update and only one time in a race but for me the corruption remained until I restarted the race.
