Actually, according to Wikipedia, the first ever GTA came out first for DOS, and was later ported to Windows, PS and Gameboy.

i have both consoles and wouldn't dream of buying it on the PS3 .... Live is far more superior to PS3's online multiplayer system!

Just imo i see it as a playstaton game, mainly due to the ps2 days of 3, vc and san andreas.
It seemed horrible playing 3 and vc on the original xbox and id imagine it still feels the same with the 360.

Im a massive fan of the GTA series and I want the DLC. I have both consoles but the 360 is the one for me and should be for any gamers in the same position.
Well perhaps not any gamers, but for the majority of fans of GTA.
And yes opinions are great, but yours is a fanboy one it seems.
No shame in that, I can understand why you think its a playstation game, but I think you are being blinded a bit.

Come on mate.... horrible? If it was horrible they wouldnt release at the same time...
I remember reading MCV (when i worked for a video game store) and one of the main reasons why GTA wasnt released October 2007 was because R* where having difficulty developing the game on the PS3 and Sony made R* promise they wouldnt release it on the 360 before the PS3 (oh, and i do have a PS3 myself and i love it).
Stop being such a fan boy.
p.s my first console ever was a PS1, then PS2 then a 360.... and i will prefer it on the 360 (not saying its better - multiplayer will be though)

GTA is a multi platform game?
not a Playstation game.... i first got it for me PC... then i played it on my mates PS1 about a year later...
Its like me saying ill get it on the MICROSOFT 360 because i see it as a PC game???

I dont believe that everyone should get it on the 360 for the DLC simply because both versions will be as good as each other .... but it just annoys me when people say daft things like ... "ill get it on the ps3 as it will be better" or "the ps3 has a better controller and ive heard it has 2 player split screen"
It can't be denied that GTA gained the majority of its current fame on the PS2, i imagine this is why people think of it as a playstation game - not because it was only released on it or released first, but its because the majority of people will only played it/played it first on playstations
