It works rather well, was quite amusing seeing a copper hold onto car whilst driving away.
 
Spoke to one of my worked today whos husband is a manager for a brach of a well known high street shop, they have been told to prepare for release at the drop of a hat as they may get a call to sell it at any time.

GTA4 has plenty of new gameplay mechanics ( gunplay, especially the aiming, physics etc ).

** OPINION IZ WRONG!

GTA4 is no more different to its predecessors than Halo 3 was.
 
My mum is hopefully in work on Monday or Tuesday so I shall get her to grab me a copy for me then now. :)
 
meh, I'd just like to get to play it, however it is. I agree that the pot luck thing is ridiculous, let shops sell it or don't distribute it. Or purposefully set a late release date and then bring it forward!

It's hard to impose strict releases though unless the game is delivered the night before release.
 
Been to another 5-6 various shops this afternoon after work but they all say no. One place was saying to come back Thursday as they have sold all their stock in pre-orders :(
 
Hello, my name is Alty and I'm a *** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread *** hype junkie. I only pre-ordered it last night but have kept an avid interest in this thread and the adventures people are having trying to locate their early copy and must confess to finding the cries of disappointment entertaining. This thread surely deserves five stars for the pure entertainment value alone - keep it up guys :D

I can't see all places releasing it should they be told to. It'd be nice though.
 
Man what a day... picked up GTA about 2pm and only got chance to stick it on for about 15 minutes. Been plasterboarding all day and will be doing the same tomorrow :(

Anyway, the pizzas in the oven a nice cold bottle of Peroni is in my hand, the beanbag is in front of the tele and GTA is in the PS3 - TTFN ;)
 
Woot my Order has been DISPATCHED and its been confirmed as being sent out the warehouse.

Thats rubbish, it will just cause havok, they will only release it on the ORIGINAL date now.

Drop of a hat, what they have them in stock and its easier to sell them on 29th at midnight than say tomorrow and have 100s of people trying to buy the game.
