Hello there fellow Overclockers. Just a hello to you all from the North Sea:cool: This is my new place of work: The Montrose oil and gas platform situated 130 miles east of Aberdeen. I am an operating technician working a 2 week on 3 week off rota. This is only my second trip, and I am finally settling in, although it was all a little daunting to start with. I live in Wales with my fiancee and we love walking and climbing with our dogs, so to be stuck on here for 2 weeks was a little hard at first. Anyway, it's a good career move, with great food, the use of computers, a playstation 2 and all the phone calls you need to make for free :). I find my self getting the "the North Sea stare" once in while, just leaning on a handrail and staring out to sea. I like watching the seals fishing around the platform, and every now and again a gannet will join the show:cool: hey did you know the North Sea was emerald green at times? It's so beautiful!
Well I've got to go now, going down for breakfast at half 5, then due on shift at 6:30 Wish me luck folks.

Are you allowed to fish off the side? and if so, is there anything worth catching in those waters?
 
looks interesting - would love to see if i could cope! Im sure you will enjoy and once you and your finceé get used to the shifts you'll be fine!
 
You would so not get me on that. 8 Legs holding all that up :eek:

Good on you though. 2 on and 3 off with a good rate of pay also :D

Hope you enjoy it though mate, will definitely be a different experience to any other job, money can't be half bad either! :D
