Police quote around 200 socalled "fans" I call them yobs were involved. When taking into account Manchester figures of 200k fans in the city thats 0.1% so yes it is a minority when 99.9% were well behaved and had a party.

Still disgusting but it was a minority. I also hope the police will pass the names of all those arrested to Ibrox officials and if any are found to hold season tickets then they will hopefully no longer hold season tickets.

Looks a lot more than 200 fans in that video.

Report on a Liverpool forum from a steward who was in the gardens that "Someone in MCC" decided it was a health and safety problem and that is why the game was not shown on the screen. I find it hard to believe that they could be so stupid if this is in case the fact.

Heres a quote

"We then hit quarter to 8, and the square is rammed with Rangers fans, singing and watching the big screen for the adverts to end and the game to start. By 5 to 8, still no game. Then a supervisor gets it over his radio that they werent showing it. I couldnt believe it. My words to him where "there will be absolute ****** murder here, its ****** suicide"."

"Last night, five men were arrested for wounding with intent on suspicion of stabbing a Russian fan. They have since been released and it appears the knifeman has escaped. "

:(

There was me thinking Scottish footie fans were the more civil of the lot over here.....

Hot day, lots of Alcohol, Failed big screen & a loss, I'm surprised this was not worse (bad though it was).

:(

I dont really think the screen not working is any excuse for a riot, it sounds to me like you are justifying it.

I'm not justifying it I'm just saying what did they think would happen when they sell 1000's of people booze from 10 am then not show the game. Doesnt justify it and I hope all those arersted are banned from ibrox for life as I said earlier.

However what could Rangers have done to avoid this????

They were not football fans at all they were scum, its a shame that a lot of those who travelled are banned from ibrox aswell, i really hope that cctv is used to put these scum bags in jail.

I'm not a fan of either side of the old firm, but the trolling in this thread is pretty embarrassing. Every team will have an occasion when their club is let down by the actions of idiots, but for other fans to use this as a way of winding up opposition fans is just pathetic.

Show me a team that has never had problems with a minority of so called 'fans' causing trouble.

The way some people are going on in this thread, you'd think that every single one of their 'fans' behaves like angels at all times.

I'm not excusing Rangers by any means, and like every other club they have a responsibility to do what they can to stamp this out. But it's football in general that still suffers from this problem, and there's a long way to go (especially in British football) before fans can point an accusing finger at another team, safe in the knowledge that their team/fans are 'perfect'.

Im not going to post in this thread any more its a sad time for a rangers fan
and its even sadder now that a nice guy such as tommy burns is dead.
I just cant really be bothered with the peeing contest atm.
i find it sad some would use this as a mockery of any fan when 1) they were not involved and 2) a really decent guy in scottish football dies,
