Go on, have your say - why me?

Just throwing in my 2p's here.
Have no problem with you, you seem like a nice guy and a lot of your posts seem very informative, although I do disagree with a lot of the stuff you say.
Everyone have their own opinions and a forum shows this, I just find it childish if someone sends an email to someone purely to slack them off, no matter if the poster is correct or not.

care to fill in my carecup --->> |_P

i dont have a problem with you by the way, just i dont care for a sympathy thread

tbh I've always respected you and all the older members here, always felt they show their experience fairly well :)

For reference, I completely agree on the phobia thing; a phobia is something much worse than being scared of dying in a car accident, at least in my eyes.

That's the point. 'In my eyes' suggests that you're not talking fact, rather an opinion. In the phobia thread, dimple comes across as stating his knowledge as certain, which it is not. Experience does not a practitioner make.

I've given up letting you get on my nerves, but you're just one of those people who really does. Since you asked, it's mainly the "I've seen X band Y number of times", "I have the limited edition dvd" type posts. I'm sure it's just my inference, but you constantly seem to be showing off or trying to illustrate how worldly you are.

I haven't got any limited DVD's of anything and I only mention seeing bands when others have mentioned them.
I can't see a problem with somebody starting a thread 'Anybody else like Led Zeppelin?' and then I respond with 'I did see them 4 times in the 70's, I have loads of bootleg DVDs and countless albums' etc. I bet Big kev is thankful that I 'bragged' about seeing RUSH before him. I'll tell you why - he ended up getting a tour programme from the forst tour they did in this country. Another lad on here got a Bruce Springsteen one from 1980 and I gave a 1976 KISS one away too.

Looks like paranoia to me. My qualm with you in the other thread is that you posted absolute tripe and then backed it up with "my daughter had a phobia and it was worse than your's so your's isn't real". I don't care who posts that rubbish but it needs to be recognised that it is rubbish.

This is what really grinds my teeth with this forum because some people read the first post.
Nobody has mentioned the fact that I retracted it here : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11725126&postcount=49 and then I went on to defend him here : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11725860&postcount=66.
In fact not even the OP acknowledged it.
The way his original post came over was just a fear, a little later he explained how he felt and I acknowledged that it was a phobia.
I have had a lot of experience with my own daughter and it gets to me when people have a fear and say they have a phobia.
When you have a phobia it becomes an illness and I misinterpreted the OPs post but made amends BUT NOBODY READ THE AMENDS.

I would also second this. DMPoole, your attitude of 'I've experienced it, I must be right' is what gets on people's ****. You've experienced Led Zep, thus you must be right about music, you've experienced mental asylums and now you know all there is to know about them.
It's OK taking this attitude, but it seems that your opinions are so cemented into your brain that when you get told that you are wrong, you take it as a personal insult.<3

How can I be right because I experienced Led Zeppelin? Thats silly.
What makes you think I know all about Mental Asylums?
have I said I'm an expert on them or are you making assumptions?
I can honestly say that I am one person who is definitely not cemented in their opinions and I change my mind all the time on here.

For instance, the phobia thread; who do you think you are to tell someone that their 'phobia' is actually a 'fear'? You are not the authority on the subject, have no training to make this assumption, and finally don't even know the person...!<3

Read above.
Why didn't you quote the other 2 posts where I then backed him up?
I know, cause its an internet forum.

People come on here all the time talking about their experiences or offering advise without any criticism but for some reason (and I know this is an age issue) when I post, some posters see it has me being a 'know all'.
I'll be very lucky if I live another 15 years in the area I come from so why I can't talk about my life experiences is beyond me.
So I saw Led Zep 4 times and other amazing classic rock bands but why should that bother anybody on here except the likes of Big Kev or ElvisFan?
Somebody has even used my Human resources job at the NHS against me to have a dig which is so childish.
I give advise in the MUSIC section and I know by emails I get that some people are just waiting to have a dig at the simplest things I post eg 'I'd recommend a Gibson Les Paul Standard' and then I get an email saying '**** *** you old ****, you know nothing'.
I'm not a very clever person and I use these forums to learn and ask advise and the quality of posters on here is excellent.
I have learnt so much in the last few years I've been here but every now & then I can add something from my experiences and suddenly I'm the devil.

So go on, have your say, why can't I have my say without some posters having a dig?

tbh dmpoole we've had our ups and downs sometimes i think "Whatever BS!" and recently ive started thinking yeh damn nice post, your a knowledgeable guy, and its good to share experiences in the music forums.

dont worry some proper idiots on these forums, who get fun from abusing others.

i still kick your drummers ass though im afraid.

Somebody on here has tried to be clever and put me down by calling me Dimple.
I actually like it and if a passing mod can change my username I'd be grateful.
