Best soundtracks in a game

That comes out on PC in the middle of June, what band am I looking for?? :)

This Is Menace, its a supergroup started by some of the members of Pitchshifter. They use a different guest vocalist from bands like Killing Joke, Funeral for a Friend, Hundred Reasons, Sikth, Fightstar, Pitchshifter, Earthtone9, Carcass, Napalm Death, Send More Paramedics, Therapy?, Hiding Place, Amen, Murder One, Charger, The Ghost of a Thousand, New Model Army for each song.

I'm pretty sure you can also search the Oblivion program files for the music tracks too, if you have the game anyway. That's where I got the soundtrack from.

You're probably right but I think the downloaded one is more complete and much higher quality (320kbps). It has DRM but that can be dealt with pretty easily.

Wonderful music indeed – get the soundtrack :)

Also:

TA intro sequence

Just thinking about sound and music in games and thinking what was the best in terms of creating a atmospheric game. For me it was the original Quake soundtracks by Nine Inch Nails, did they produce some eerie soundtracks for that game or what. Along with the graphics, monsters and the level design what a classic!

Dude - I just saw the title and as I was clicking the page I was think "It's gotta be Trent's NIN Quake soundtrack!" Sure enough, it wasn't only mentioned in the thread, but was the basis for the thread! Good man!

Too bad NIN suck now :(

For those unconvinced about Morrowind's soundtrack, look no further than Nerevar Rising by Jeremy Soule:

Original – Morrowind's title music

Reprise

You can get the soundtracks to Morrowind and Oblivion (plus other games Jeremy Soule's composed for) from DirectSong for about £3 per soundtrack :)

This is another of my favourites:

Forest Green – Jeremy Soule

Love them.

I like the Dungeon Siege main theme too - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VsK4FZCGums&

For anyone who played Syndicate Wars as well - the music on the intro - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CrruSboN1bQ

I see, interesting.

And I knew full well I'd forgotten at least one, and quite possibly the best one at that: Shadow of the Colossus. If you've played the game, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

You're all wrong :p

Xenogears - Simply astonishing, Yasunori Mitsuda is a legend

FFVII - Fantastical. The melodies always being back great memories
GTA: Vice City - I love the 80's
Morrowind + Oblivion - Very epic
Suikoden III - Right up there with the best JRPG sountracks. Has probably the most beautiful opening scene/music
Breath of Fire IV - Very old china themed soundtrack. Very mystical and it fits the story and setting perfectly. Love it.

Most of the Final Fantasy games.

Most of the Zelda games.

Blue Stinger :p can't beat that Christmas music when you are at the shopping bit :D
