Spent all day playing it, since it is my first day off since end of exams. What an awesome game! Crytek have done such a good job with it, not just graphics wise but how they got you involved with the story.

Really don't see why so many people **** it off. I can't really fault it for anything, maybe people could enlighten me?

I thoroughly enjoyed the single player campaign... probably my favourite FPS ever (and yes I have played HL2, Farcry, etc). I didn't find any bugs until the last level either. I think people got too high expectations whereas I didn't get it for another few months so expected it to be more mediocre

Rubbish game tbh. Didn't seem like there was enough game play for me... Just fancy graphics that didn't do anything.

after the sunny levels the cold set in and the game turned bad i thought. overall though it was decent, but the graphics made it good. i can see why people **** it off,

yep. the earlier outdoor levels are good then you end up on some spaceship and it turns into prey! it's good ........... but not that good!

i enjoyed it (apart from the zero-g bit), no idea why so many people say they hate it. Like a lot of things it got hyped so much I think people expected perfection, so when it wasn't perfect its called rubbish by some people because it wasn't what they hoped.
Its one of the best games of recent years.

Nice summarised. For those that say it's a rubbish game. lol @ u.

I think if you take away the nice graphics then, while it's still a good game, it becomes fairly mediocre. Now throw into that the indication during development that it would scale well across a range of hardware, which it doesn't, then you can see why people might hate it.

Its a great game although the second half does let it down badly.

For some reason though as an overall experience I didnt find it as enjoyable as HL2 and Far Cry which both have more replay value too.

i hated the stupid floating level, and the last level, found a MASSIVE bug that if you go to the top before getting the super-gun, you can't get back down to get the gun, had to revert to an old save, but wasted 30 mins running around on deck

enjoyed the game, but it had a lot of 'meh' moments, loved the power suit idea, was real cool :)

much better game than farcry, i put that down about 2 hours after started seeing the alien guys

incredibly unvaried enemies, essentially 2 aliens you fight no real variety in how you fight. Sure you can stealth, but running of of juice, hiding, recharging over and over is just boring AT the end of the day theres no where difficult enough that you can't just full on assualt anyway so everything else seems pointless. yes buildings blow up pretty if you stop playing the game and start destroying a building, again, its a side thing that has no bearing on the actual gameplay. I think theres really only 1 or maybe 2 instances in the whole game where you can kill 1-2 people inside a shack by smashing it.

The story, is horrible, cliched, finishes as a horrible point and was just so boring. For me it felt like a very pretty engine, coupled with gimmicky gameplay same as Bioshock, where realistically theres no point in stealth, strength or speed, like there was zero need for any of the plasmids bar 1 or 2 in bioshock. New parts of gameplay need to be usable, fast and quick and EFFECTIVE to actually IMPROVE gameplay, most of the new idea's in these games just end up gimmicky, ackward to use and aren't any better than the default option which makes them worthless.

Could have been good with a well writen storyline and something original happening but alas, nothing did.

drunkenmaster you just described in detail what call of duty 4 is, but people RAVE about that, and thats even shorter than crysis and the MP is nothing to right home about either
