But you're stroking that at 2G speeds. ;)

Echoing what Aspect said previously, it may be worth a miss for this version.

Also randomly, Steve doesn't look very well in the video...

I was running a N95 on 2G speed for 6 months and i didn't mind that. :)

V1 iPhone and V2 software for the time being then methinks... so what do we reckon?

Official software update and considerably less official unlock software released simultaneously? :D

iSam, that bird in your sig looks constipated. Get her some Senokot stat.

I do beg your pardon? :p

Well it's got to be for me as an existing iPhone owner, don't really see anything in the new hardware that'd make me want to shelve what I've got and get the V2.

Given that the 2.0 beta has been out there for ages, the jailbreaks and apps have got to be waiting for the new software.

She does man, and at that angle it looks like she's straining over the dunnie.
:D

To thank you for being an iPhone fan, we're offering you an early upgrade to the brand new version when it launches on 11th July 2008. You won't have to wait until the end of your existing contract either, all you'll need to do is agree to a new 18-month minimum term contract.

As im an existing customer, if i upgrade to say the white 16GB model, i would pay £159, sign a new 18 month contract but what happens to the iphone i have now, is it effectively useless unless i unlock it ?

p.s This is just hypothetical as my iphone is currently stuck in headphone mode anyway!

"Gizmodo spoke with AT&T's President of National Distribution Glenn Lurie, who revealed that all iPhone activations will take place in-store. This is in contrast to the current system in which customers may activate their iPhones from home using iTunes. Additionally, Reuters reports that AT&T has said that purchasers who do not activate their iPhones within 30 days will be subject to penalties. No details on these proposed penalties have been made public."

Oh dear :o

No one is surprised that apple took away the dock this time? I bet next time they'll take away the charger or something. With the theory that everyone has a pc now. You get less and less in the box each gen. My ipod/itouch box is scarily light on content.

There'll be a lot more stolen iPhones going about then.

If the product wasn't able to be unlocked they wouldn't have realized the scale of how good it is.

I'd say it's enforced more so by the carrier than Apple though. Or at least a little move from Apple to keep them happy and/or quiet.

I cannot see how we'll sell contracts instore as well :( we don't have any tills! let alone any systems to put through contracts like at O2 stores etc. I seriously doubt we'll be doing all the checks in store/contracts, at least I hope to god we aren't!

Just read this on Pocket Lint so it looks like the standard GPS software is indeed Google Maps...

TomTom has said that it has a version of its navigation software running on Apple’s iPhone and plans to sell it to consumers not content with running Google maps.
