Can get a new iPhone 8gb v1 on the bay for £250ish so I'll be going for that if the PAYG pricing is a joke

Everyone suspected the first-gens on the bay to go down but I don't think they will.

If the pricing is right then I will get one, but if it is stupid, then I will either wait for a price drop (unlikely) or wait for v3.

I can wait for v3, the v2 doesn't have enough gizmo for me to justify me getting it.

Now what I want in v3 is....

Higher res Screen (VGA at least)
True Widescreen, the current one isn't really a widescreen really, its 480x320, stuff like Lost has boarders on it.

Looking at O2 PAYG phones the most expensive they seem to have is the Sony Ericsson K850i @ £239.99. Now if that phone which has been out for ages costs that much then surely the brand new iphone will be costing much much more. I'm thinking at least £399.99.

I really don't get what you mean. The way they are selling this is exactly the same way you would buy any other mobile handset on a contract.

Contract phones are subsidised.

Of course they are not going to let you walk out of the store without signing the contract.

Pretty pedantic of me but at a glance both the v1 and v2 look the same from the front, unless you see the back (but i have a Black IMAT2 stuck on it) so that itself makes me less want a new one.

I also don't really like a curved back one as I (may be i really shouldn'y admit it online) surf while sitting on the throne in the morning and put it down on the edge of the bath.....now a curved one would have a much bigger chance of sliding INTO the bath.

I held off the rumour sites last night guys to watch the video as soon as it appeared.

First thing: WOW.

3G, GPS! - Amazing, I shall be queing again at Regents Street to upgrade!

Love the whole MeMobile.com, even though I liked .Mac anyway.

No Screen updates? - Probably will happen without any prior info soon maybe?

Snow Leopard - Love the name, and as MacRumors state - they will concentrate on performance which is awesome.

Bring on the 11th June 2008!

Went into an o2 and CPW store today to see if they had any idea when we can expect pre-orders and o2 seem to think it will only be available in-store from o2 or CPW and on July 11th it will be a first come first served basis. They're having a store launch apparently and you can't reserve one online.

CPW on the other hand where barely aware a new iPhone had come out..

Bah. Oh well. I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks on the 13th July, might just get one when I come back at the beginning of August - hopefully the fuss might've died down a bit by then!

Did you ask them about PAYG Justin?

o2 admintted there was a PAYG offer on the cards but he said "you'll find out before we know if you keep an eye on the web"
