Do you think it's like the Megadrive or Snes again?

one of silliest comments of the thread

theres nothing at all wrong with sequels , id rather play and continue some sort of story from a game ive played before then just play a newly named game which is pretty much the same anyway.

point being the amount of games that are top sellers that are NEW games on 360 far out weighs the amount of new games that are quailty games on ps3.

but am not making this about games etc, my point being i dont own a ps3 because i dont want to play, racing game 10, fighting game 8, i didn't own a ps2 either for same reason, and stopped support ps1 prob after tekken 3 came out n was a load of crap.

But surely the problem doesn't lie with sequels, just bad sequels?

Strange that you didn't buy a console simply because racing game 10 etc was on it, you missed ICO, God of War, Okami, Devil May Cry, SSX, Shadow of The Collosus and a whole load of others because a console had a game you didn't like on it:confused:

You're entitled to your opinion of course, But your opinion and the way you've chosen to avoid Sony because of it has cost you a lot of fantastic games.

Just beacuse there are many sequels on a console, doesn't stop plenty of first time excellent games appearing. And for example. Final fantasy 7 onwards, Those are sequels, and some of the best games ever made.

Just as back in the day you had Phantasy Star (MD) v's Final Fantasy (SNES) for example, you now have Lost Oddyssey v's Final Fantasy XIII, God of War v's Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell v's Metal Gear Solid, Forza v's Gran Turismo etc. etc.

Back in the day I was young, I only had money for one console, I chose the MD because it had franchises that I wanted to play that were not on the SNES. (I did end up buying a SNES too towards the end of its life)

Just like now, I prefer the franchises that are on the PS3, I have the money to own everything, but not the time in the day to play everything, so I sold my 360 and got my PS3.

No point arguing which is better really, its what you prefer as a gamer.

What, like crappy SFII ports with only 3 buttons?

A 6 button pad did the job just fine, as did the myriad of Sega arcade sticks that the SNES never boasted. The SNES version didn't have the 4 boss characters either. As far as I remember, the Mega Drive version was much better.

I bought the Wii but I was disappointed. It's not the lock yourself in a dark room and play video games all day kind of console.

Its not meant to be that type of console, the 360/ps3 is more orientated. The Wii is more of a multiplayer console and casual arcade game types.

i was informing you of how stupid your opinion was :)

you tried to make a smart comment hinting at there only been sequels on PS3 when its pretty much the same state of affairs on the 360

not buying a top game just because its a sequel is ridiculous.
