Why isn't Robot Wars on TV anymore?

They really messed up by getting rid of the challenges. The gauntlet/sumo/tug of war were awesome and the end battles seemed good because they were the finale. When the whole show was like that though it fell on its arse.
 
It got ridiculous with stupidly big house robots after they let one guy loose on it. I mean what the hell was the point of Mr. Psycho anyway? :/

Then the BBC let it go and replaced it with some ridiculous virtual reality show with cheesy graphics and that was the end of that (for both shows). Yeah, I know C5 tried it for a year but it was already on the way out by then.

They could bring it back, but they'd have to go back to its roots and get rid of the stupidity from the last series or two.

I recently re-watched Hypnodisc ripping Matilda to shreds. God that was such class. :D

Because you can buy something from ****** these days which would make you question your licence fee.

edit : LOL! An apparent competitor who only really hones in on electrical parts and begins with M and finishes with N. Jesus Christ, talk about stifling the (non) competition!

Agreed, the first season was the best.
 
I'd definitely watch it again if it was on but only if it had the challenges.

I put it in the same sort of box as Gladiators.
