All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

If the 6+5 rule comes in then definantly. Fortunately we've got a few youngster (foreign) that have been here long enough (or will have soon) to count as home grown.

Come to think of it Agger may count and in 2 seasons Lucas and Babel will also so it shouldn't be a big problem.

Walcott, Ramsey, Hoyte, Fabregas, Clichy, Toure, Gibbs...

I think those all count, and I'm not too sure on their youths.

Randall
Wilshere
Hoyte (Gavin)
Simpson
Gilbert

Could all make the step up, the first 2 will be with the first team squad this season.

I suspect Senderos, Djourou and maybe Denilson and Diaby have been here long enough.

Chelsea were the only team who couldn't field 25 homegrown players in the Champions league squad.

Fulham signed another :/

Fulham Football Club has added the signing of Andranik to its summer acquisitions. The 25-year-old Armenian-Iranian defensive midfielder has played most recently for Bolton Wanderers and the Iran national football team.

Atleast we're bulking up the cover for free i guess, but we need to spend some money on a decent striker. Atleast hes over in the Euro's for free with UEFA!

Also from Hodgson about the open place in the Fulham backroom.

‘I am working closely with the Board in terms of current football business to ensure we are able to acquire our targets, whilst we are in a period of transition recruiting a new CEO. Having spoken to the Chairman, I understand that we have received a large number of approaches from some extremely high calibre candidates.

The Telegraph are reporting that our offer was only £13m for Barry not the previously reported £15 and that O'Neil wants Carson as part of the deal too.

No, Villa want £15m-£18m for GB - Carson's valuation of £10m has since been condemned by MON.

I can see £10m + Carson, which won't be bad, although he was poor in the latter stages of the season.

Just as long as the name P. Crouch isn't anywhere in the mix, it will all work out fine.

Benitez wants barry so he can field a unique formation of:

0
10
1

Lucas Mascherano Plessis Gerrard Barry Alonso Babel Benayoun Pennant Leto

Torres

The midfield will simply form a line on our goal line and link hands. They will slowly move up the pitch, keeping linked arms. Anyone who passes through the line is offside and at worst we give away a free kick for obstruction.

The players will take it in turns to kick the ball to Torres who will score from anywhere on the pitch because he is amazing.

I think the flying V wil work better with torres nestled in the middle, it works for the mighty ducks why not l'pool!

Don't worry, he'd rather play for Pompey than you :p

O'Neil said, during the HT break of the Poland match, that he thinks it's going to be very hard to keep Barry.
