Total War Empires. Big Details and screenshots inside!

ive loved all of the total war series. they really are awesome games, nicely polished and fairly genre defining.

i will definately get this one. i would like for land battles to be more atmospheric though, if you imagine.

like huge explosions from cannon fire, lots of smoke, better sound (although its good as it stands). i would also like more special units, like flag bearers, drummers, etc, although these seem to be included, which is good.

and quad core support!!

im annoyed that in mtw2 my 'max recomended' is 4000 odd, when i have a q6600, 2gb ram, and 2 GTs.

they need to make a version of this about the american war of independence. ive long wanted to teach those damn colonists from the new territories a lesson!

Heres some more Screan shots:)

All can be found here along with some art work

I have one of Units inside of a building shooting out of it but im not sure if i can post it here due to it looking likes its from a magazine.

I hope you enjoy:)

Probably true...its really just we are all getting old now, have family commitments etc, so we only get to LAN together for 3 or 4 hours a week, and we're getting too slow to keep up on frantic online shooters with the hyperspeed gamers :) , so we enjoy the slow paced thinking games more.

The current game of HOMM 5 we are multiplayering has been going on for 3 months so far, bloody good fun though. Would just love the ability to multiplayer the main campaign of Total war, one of us as the English, one as the Spanish, one as the Russians and one as one of the really minor nations (that one would be me, I love to play the smaller nations, loved MTW2 as the Danish, Sicilians and Knights Templar)

Really it cant do any harm to include the option in the game, certainly wouldnt lose any customers, and who knows, might gain some.

Play multiplayer CIV4 - It's the best multiplayer strategy/ empire building game ever! The way they have implemented MP is awesome.

You can micromanage till you die, and have all sorts of deals with other players and the AI.

Back on topic - I hope this game is as epic as the others, and I really hope they finally address the AI.

Still can't wait for it, I think the Total war games are one of the most important strategy series for pc these days. Also a pc exclusive no console dumbed down game but designed properly for pc from the ground up :D.

Agreed! It's really good for to see CA keep pushing the boundaries to make it a really deep experience, and to keep up-to-date with user desires :D Especially as apposed to saying 'lets go multiplatform and dumb it down!', which is a very easy decision to make with a ginormous budget game.

Oh well I still got kingdoms to play and Medieval 2 to finish ( I'm 2 cities away from conquering Rome, hopefully I can kill the pope then or at least shut him up, and concentrate on Jerusalem instead.)

See, the trouble with Total War is it's too engaging for its own good. I'm still on my 3rd Rome Long campaign with an untouched copy of Medieval 2 sitting on the wardrobe.

Disagree, that's the great thing about total war.

Finished Rome 4 times 3 quick games and one full game and moved on to medieval.

It's potentially a disaster sales wise. If Rome hadn't taken me so long I'd have bought the expansions.

The expansions for Rome are both rubbish imo.
Even if I won't finish m2tw I'll still get empire total war...
Never the less, I'm happy m2tw can keep me amused so long.

I hope that video is in game or what you get at the start of the battle:D(which is ingame graphics anyway)

Im getting a bit annoyed now, Im not sure what were getting, a navel combat game or a total war game.

Its got ships, I get it, show us something else :(.

BUT ITS DELAYED UNTIL Q1 2009.

I did groan when i read that....

:(

I would rather wait and don't play a beta tbh.

There's truth in that, and it's what permanently put me off Medieval 2. Then again I suppose the delay will allow me more time to save up a bit here and a bit there to fork out for the wholesale upgrade that my 'old skool' PC will require, when Empire finally gets released.

It's looking good though.
