Just completed it on the xbox 360, i first did it on the pc, but much more enjoyed it on the 360, such a good little game, wish they made more games like this, it actually gets your brain into action, thinkin about physics etc.

Well done to the Portal team!

i wish you would have found the other female survivor who left messages about, i wish there would have been a bigger in depth story like you had to release prisoners or, you had some background on how you got there etc.

Yes its definately a gem. I had a smile on my face all the way through!

Its a bit sinister and dark though when you really think about the other person who was probably killed by that machine at the end, when you see all the.

"The cake is a lie..."
"The cake is a lie..."
"The cake is a lie..."
"The cake is a lie......."

It's a good game, too short at just over an hour though and 2/3's of it holds your hand like a tutorial.

As I said, a good game, but massively over-rated.

Definitely not over-rated its very original. what game are like it? to say it was made by a bunch of small town developers.

No over-rated? It's won a lot of game of the year awards, pop into the PC gaming section and in-between fapping sessions all they mention is Portal :p.

Doesn't make it over rated though. Got to agree Portal is fantastic and imho the best game to come out last year

IT'S ABOUT 60 MINUTES LONG.

People have a go at games like CoD4 (which offer Offline AND Online) modes as being too short.

But its the concept, to say it wasnt made by any big time company such as Valve etc, its bloody brilliant.

I will fight you nokkon and i will win :) :D

Valve are a massive company.. they're funded by EA too.
The game needed to be at least 5 times longer, 10 times harder and a lot less tutorialised.

Tbf its basically a Half Life 2 add-on, so it was never to be a full sized game. It is v.highly rated as well though so whether you believe it meets the hype or not is subjective, personally I did actually love it.

Games don't need to be long to be enjoyable.

I payed £25 for the Orange box (something like that) and I got HL2 Episode 2 which was 6 hours of great entertainment (probably goty), portal which lasted 3 hours and Team Fortress 2 where I've already put in at least 20. That's more than my moneys worth and I would have payed about £10-£15 for Portal.

I want more games to be like Portal, I don't want to spend 20-40 hours on every game I buy and I think more people feel this way about games now.

If Portal was made longer it would have drawn out and I would have got bored with it after a while. The difficulty curve wasn't an issue either, it was easy to begin with and as you got used to the mechanics it was quite challenging. It was never too difficult and I was never stressed when playing it unlike some other games out there.

It deserved all the attention it got.

A very good game but I found it far too easy. I guess that's just part of being male and having great 3D awareness though.

People moan about CoD4 being too short because it's a single game for the full price.

Portal was never meant to be sold full price, thus it was included in the Orange Box, I'm glad it's the length it was.

I think the difficulty level was spot on, and the early tutorial style levels were necessary and fun.

I'm slightly surprised how a game like this could work on a joypad though, given some of the quick mouse movements necessary to complete some of the puzzles. I've only played the PC version.
