All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

I think the seeds have been set, he will just have to be let go now.. no point trying to keep him.

If its the reported £40-50m+ Robinho/Ramos, id probably take that, £40m allows you to buy near enough any replacement, use some cash you have and thats that.

Would help with backup wing cover and a striker too.

£40-60m + Robinho/Ramos and Huntelaar or someone and they'll be done!

Hmm, im still not 100% he'll go, definitely in the future, but why now?

Why not now? He has nothing left to accomplish in the EPL. He has won everything with one club and won best player in the league easily. I'd say now is a great time to move on and set himself some new goals etc :)

Agreed, he has done us proud and if he wants a new challenge let him go

I just dont like the way its going with all this cloak and dagger BS, just get on with it one way or another, the way Ronaldo has handled it has been ****

with united being a bit of a one man team last season, how do united fans think a departure of Ronaldo will affect your side.

Plus, would you still want him after he has stated his dream is to play for Real?

Anyone think the
And he revealed that Luiz Felipe Scolari, about to take over at Chelsea after Portugal's exit from Euro 2008, advised him to make the move.

I don't mind if people get upset. It is my decision

Cristiano Ronaldo
"It is a dream, a step forward," Ronaldo replied when asked about the prospect of playing at the Bernabau.

"For me, it is a great opportunity and, as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it."

Was quite funny? As in big Phil thinking " Ill tell him to go to Real Madrid may make it a bit easier for Chelsea to win something this year!" ;)

We will need Rooney/Tevez to step up their games + A.N.Other

No, let him go, hopefully Ruud will slap him again

To be honest id love to see if he can come anywhere near his goal tally this season, I bet thats part of the move, quickly jump leagues so you dont have to try and match your performance!

Wonder who utd will pimp to replace him anyway, league could be very interesting this year

Ruud had slapped him over something and said "go cry to your Daddy" just after Ronaldo's dad had died, i dont think Fergie or Carlos was best pleased about it tbh

Something along those lines anyway

IF they get the money thats being talked about, i'd look at Quaresma, Simao etc, Queiroz can get them.

Not if Queiroz goes to be the boss at Portugal he wont (which I think is a huge possibility)

£50m+ player (Ramos preferably) should be the minimum we acccept

That's how I remember it but did Ruud not say he meant Carlos when he said daddy because of all the mollycodling Ronaldo got from him?

Man Utd fans should console themselves with the fact that this merry go round will happen next season with Cesc. I suspect it will be Barca doing the unsettling that time.

We'll be fine. We managed without Nistelrooy. Without Cantona. Without Keane, etc...

Almost everything was put there for him by Rooney and Tevez, hopefully the former gets a little more selfish (though I say this every year). We spread the goals around pretty well and still have the best defence in the league. It's not going to be easy, but I have confidence in Ferguson that he'll sort it.

It's just a shame. Ronaldo can go, the way he's handled this has been unprofessional to the extreme.
I genuinely think, after the move, Ronaldo will realise he's made a big mistake. We've seen it so many times in the past.

I'm amazed Ronaldo thinks he's going to a better club with players that suit him better than united. The whole united set up and attack suits him to.

I think he will never get near the standards at Real he has at united. I bet he becomes lazier and over time slips. 2 or 3 years from now he will be begging to go back home to united.

He's gone for the life style not for the football.
