cantona probably wasn't the best example i was looking for i guess

even though he scored some big goals in big games in the english league.....sub in the real Ronaldo/Ronaldinho and add Maradona,Van Basten.

those guys played big when it matters against the best, not against West Brom at home.

unless he starts to do that more consistently whether with Madrid or Utd he will never measure up as a true legend.

He wasn't in the France team after his suspension because Jacquet was a ****.

In Europe the only season Cantona played in the CL where we didn't have any restrictions was 96/97 where he scored 3 goals and we were knocked out in the semi's. Didn't do bad this year to my recollection, always remember a cracking half volley he had which thumped the bar against Juventus.

Year before was the Uefa cup which was during his suspension and the years before we got shafted with the 3 foriegners rule.

Wasn't it Ginola that never played again rather than Cantona? (He lost the ball which resulted in them conceding a goal and not qualifying).

Yeah, that's what I thought. Cantona was just replaced by Zidane that's all.

Edit- Saw this on wikipedia as well lol :

Yeah, I know he must be gutted by how it turned out, but if you get yourself banned for 8 months and Zinedine Zidane is your replacement, you're ****ed.

As long as Anderson is fit for the start of the season I don't mind. That boy has the potential to be something phenomenal.

Hopefully the light will shine on Rooney and Anderson now, I think the spotlight being on Ronaldo has certainly effected Rooney.

I have never actually rated Rooney, sure he has occasional moments, but nothing like the hype thats always surrounded him.

United need an out and out striker who will consistently hit the back of the net.
