Beans Advert Pulled.

And if you are going to bring up how black Americans seam generally fitter etc, this is a lingering effect of selective breeding during the slave era.

Yep, and they are more prone to diabetes are they not? Kinda balances stuff out.

and numerous heart defects yes. (although i'm not sure if this is common to all black people or the result of inbreeding or a trade off for physical gain.)

Look at it this way...

man has nipples out on tv/ is swimming in swimming trunks thats fine and dandy, woman has her norks out and it's not.

Is that right?

Nope, and that's one of my favourite society oddities to take the **** out of.

Sadly, society/culture/tradition deems what is right or wrong, and there will always be clashes.

Probably both, as the inbreeding was the trigger for the physical gain (at least in terms of slave ancestry).

no the other differences are trade off for the benifical ones.

For example plants that grown on copper mines (something which used never to exist as the high copper content kills plants) Cannot live without the high copper.

Rats which are fully immune to warfrin, need incredible amounts of vitamin K and so die, but those with one resesive gene (weak to warfrin) and one dominant (immune to warfrin) need more vitamin K than normal but can usually find it, and are partially resistant (ie they will survive a slight dose)

Your facts and terminology that you cling to for sexuality or failing you on race... pick one, Eugenics has existed in just about every society and effected every race at one point or other btw not just black american slaves, so you have clear genetic differences between us cheery humans. One is more suited for our hectic modern world than another, pick one (still for the sake of the thread, the one he gets around to picking after probably another few more posts is gay and likes heinz products)

Not all illnesses are contagious, eg headaches, heartburn and of course gayitis

Illness does not mean you can catch it...

Do you think you can catch autism, cancer, or any number of genetic conditions?

Way to take one small part of a post, ignore the rest then interpret the small part wrongly.

I never said all illnesses were communicable :) It was just a joke.

The modern world has so many different roles that pretty much anyone without a crippling illness can find a place.

Your facts and terminology that you cling to for sexuality or failing you on race... pick one,

no they are not, under the definition previously posted homosexuality is an illness, yet being black isn't as it does not affect normal function.

neither is superior, all are merely specialised to their environment as you find in every species on earth.

And so we reach conclusion, you live in a democracy and as such society/the majority has the final say :)

Yep, but the minority is often more vocal than the majority.

Are people who like the advert going to call up to tell them how brilliant it is, how much they like it, and how they are not bothered by the fact that the men kiss?

No.

I could almost guarantee that most people have no problem with the ad, but they aren't vocal about that fact.

I wish something like counter-complaints existed, that could, if in the majority, negate complaints. That would be full-on democracy, lol

they do you can complain that the ad was taken down to either the ASA who will treat it the same way they did the complaints and do jack****, or you can complain to hienz and they will react just like they did with these complaints and ignore you and follow their publicity stunt plan.

:/

the rest of it was irelivent though.

You said it was nothing like an illness when it fits the definition nicely.

So far you are the only one who has taken the word illness as an insult, rest of us are just using it as a technical term.

As i said this century seems defined with people opinions and feelings taking precedent over fact and terminology.

I think most people would take it to be insulting if you called being gay an illness. Whether they agreed with it or not!

Also I wouldn't say illness was a technical term, it's just to broad a term.

smart-arse :p

I did mean it rhetorically.

It's like that ad with the car and the singing dog. One of the best ads I've seen this year, and some idiots start screaming animal cruelty and get it pulled

When Down Syndrome goes airborne, just know my previously self sufficient self would have said I told you so :(

Eh?

So some kind of non destructive retro viral? something we still haven't been able to make our selves (I believe the only one tested on a human killed the boy pretty quickly). such a virus would never evolve as it would not really reproduce.

I think this is just typical over-reaction on the broadcatsers part, the fact that if the advert were shown that there would be mass riots all over the UK i think is what they were trying to aim at, honestly i dont think there will ever be an end to how far political correctness/the FCC will try to control our lives.
