Oh well, I hope they do arrive tomorrow I'm getting really tired the X1600XT I've got now

They should be arriving tommorrow but unfortunately we are in the hands of the courriers on if they arrive or not.

Weve done all we can to get them here and have it all setup to deal with it when they arrive, I am sure Gibbo will be chasing this up just a little!

I thought 3850 and 3870 aftermarket coolers all fit and hence suitable water blocks for them will fit also.

They do. I have a maze4 gpu block sitting here for mine.

The GPU area is the same, so they'll fit. I think it's just full coverage blocks that don't fit.

well ordered the HIS 4870 so should have it tomorrow and back goes the laptop to our lass,yes ive paid a bit extra but need my comp back up and running

I wouldn't try to justify your purchase. Especially in this thread . We've all seen the numbers and it's not a hard choice. This is what's on 90%+ of people's minds when buying this time ---> "Do I go for the cheaper ATI 4850 or do I get the 4870", "hmmm, or two of each" .

Ah well, you will have to wait a bit then.

Personally I never bother with full blocks, just a gpu block and ramsinks. The extra you gain is small with a full block and then you have to replace it if you buy a new card plus maybe wait for a new block to be made.

there is no gain with full cover blocks.....in fact they often perform slightly worse than dedicated gpu blocks. I fail to see the point in them....yes they look nice but the majority of cases have the GPU facing down.....so you don't even see them

Full cover blocks aren't worth it.

Just a normal block and some decent copper ramsinks.

Exactly what I was thinking as I was banned (for 48hrs on friday) just for mentioning a price. Had no link or mention of a competitor.
