Why would I do anything positive for this country (theres no sence of community or respect..) I dont like it; we pay too much tax on EVERYTHING, and its just a depressing country. And yes if i had more money behind me, I would gladly get a one way air plane ticket out of here. Providing I didnt get stabbed to death on the way to airport, or run out of overpriced fuel. For the time being tho I am here, and I do everything any1 else does, Im just not proud to be British. it might change in the future, but with everything that goes on, you cant blame people for having similar opinions about it

More human rights BS sounds like. 'kids rights' to decide what they should or shouldn't be taught.

What happened to the days where teachers could tell the kids what to do and they respected it or got a clip round the ear, and would tell parents to let them do their jobs or GTFO.

lol why do people care 2 kids refused to take part in a practicle lesson learning about a religion. They got a detention possibly over the top why is this national news?

What i hate most is people treat allah as some different god to christians or jews, When allah is literally the arabic word for god and is used by christian and jewish arabs.

Up until GCSEs start i think, it isn't the subject that is the problem, just that the teachers tend to be a bit over zealous in the religion department, as you would expect. This incident seems to be a bit overblown, but i don't think a demonstration along the lines of "This is how muslims/christians/jews pray to god." Now everyone join in is a good idea. Perhaps they only got detention for the manner in which they refused?

lol at all these over the top comments. One incident in one school across the entire country and you're going on about how you're sick of this country and ashamed to be British. Truly ridiculous.

When I was at school we had religion forced upon as all the time, it was regular practice. We were punished if we didn't pray, we were taken down to the local church and forced to pray and read from the bible. There was no uproar about that. Just because it's OMG ISLAM everyone is having a hissy fit.

Unbelievable over-reactions to a non-issue. Typical Daily Mail story, making a fuss over what is essentially nothing at all. Some whacko R.E teacher getting a bit carried away over trying to teach her students about the practices of other religions? I hardly think it marks the downfall of the UK as we know it, does it.

Agreed, I wonder how many have them have had the pleasure of living in a country which actually has major problems.
