Because when it works (as mine as has done pretty much since launch) it's provided the most consistent period of great gaming in my life. I look at my Wii, I look back at last gen and the PC gaming I've done and hand on heart 360 is number 1.
 
Reliability isn't that huge a factor in judging the best consoles, it does come down to the games and overall experience.

If best console just meant literally the best console as a unit, then it's always going to be the latest and most powerful that wins.
 
360 doesn't deserve to be so high, certainly it should be on the list just not number one.

Fantastic catalog of games, but a poor history of break downs for most users.

I don't think the former is that good that it deserves to outway the latter.
 
The standard Xbox isn't there either despite giving the world Halo, RalliSport Challenge (2), Chronicles of Riddick, Shenmue 2, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ninja Gaiden and others..

Not as good as the Playstation or Playstation 2, but for me better than the GameCube and DS Lite.

Honestly? The Wii hasn't done enough to satisfy people in the long term yet.

It certainly hasn't had any classics yet.

It's brought gaming to the masses that's for sure, but I honestly cannot class any of the titles out for it as AAA must have titles.

Not even the latest Zelda :(

It's got good games, but none of them take it to that next level for me.
 
Sorry but the N64 and PS2 were much better than the 360 and I would have went with the Wii over the GameCube.

The GameCube and the original Xbox were pretty on par really, down to personal taste as to which one you like better I think.

I'd class the GameCube just ahead of the Xbox.

I'm not conviced the DS should be that high on the list though.
 
I think the main reason the 360 is on there is because it's the most recognised console out of the current gen, nothing more.

More Saturn goodness: Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragoon Saga, SF:alpha2. (Best 2d console ever IMO.)

Mario Galaxy is a fantastic, brilliant, superb game.
Metroid Prime 3 is also ace.
Mario Kart and Smash Bros are all also quality.
It also has Okami and Resi Evil 4, and regardless of "Oh they were on other systems first uff uff uff", they're still Wii games too.

Thats a joke ain't it. Obviously Microsoft throwing some more of their money around. PS3 easily in the top 3, let alone 10.

..and in which way is the Gamecube better than the PS3?
