YAY BE!

My BeBox has synced at 9.2Mb and 1.2Mb up with a 45dB attenuation and 6dB noise margin.

Send a ticket into BE and ask them to switch you onto Fastpath and a 6dB profile - make sure you mention that you understand that your line may become unstable and reverted back to interleaved etc - touchwood though it'll be rock solid stable with lower latency and a higher connection speed :)

I thought Fastpath/interleaved wasn't applicable on adsl2+

Whoo , go live next Tursday! :D have to say bloody good service so far!!

got Mac from ukfsn , phoned BE , gave them mac code ... my account was setup there and then , so i can login via net see whats going on, got an email just now 9:13am , saying!

We are delighted to inform you that your order for Be has been accepted.

Your welcome pack with Be Box modem should arrive on 17/07/08

Good, you won't regret it.

Though I do suggest that you use the time before you go live to get a DG834GT (old sky one) and flash it to the DGTeam firmware. I started on the o2 wireless box and it would only sync ~4.3, used the DG and was synced at ~6.7; that and it was a bit quicker!.

^ ill have to wait to get one , utterly skint as its been car service , AA , insurance for the past 2 months :/ oh + photography gear! :P is there any better one than the DG834GT?

£200 to spend ? :P in a months time

i have a DG834G atm!

Also is it worth me asking BE to put on LLU ? now rather than later? my exchange does support it

^ ahh okay , im guessing they have as its took them 3 months to get setup at my exchange

Feriso :

gonna get this:

Netgear DG834N :)

Nope. Fastpath/interleave are perfectly applicable and can make a large difference to your sync speed.

signed up to Be-Pro :E just have to wait and see

You should never sign up with BePro initially. Always go BeUnlimited and then if your line stats are good, ask to test to see if BePro is worth it. For many on marginal lines, it's not.

Good choice if you need wireless-N capabilities. If not, you'd save a lot of cash just getting a Sky branded GT as mentioned above. £15 for a router that will give you the best from your line isn't to be sniffed at.

Meh so :D Cheaper than ukfsn anyway so not botherd :E

needed an upgrade for a while anyway

OK, IIRC using DMT by GT shows an interleaved depth of 64 (on my line), though when I look at the stats from telnet then it shows Fastpath is active - I thought the two were not mutually exclusive.

Lots of routers incorrectly report fastpath as being enabled on a line.

Plus iirc, you can in theory have fastpath enabled on the downstream but not the upstream. (By that I mean it can in theory be enabled on one and not on the other, not that it's one OR the other)

im on be i use my netgear dg834gt with V1.01.06 - DGTeam Rev. 0743 firmware get an extra 2-4meg sync, been 100% stable for me, my line stats arnt brilliant and i sync at 16meg consistently.

Think about trying it out early - I've had a couple of lines activated a day early in the past.

Yeah I wasn't due to be activated until Monday, but my ADSL suddenly kicked in on Sunday night :)

To the OP, you'll more than likely find you'll have to downgrade from Pro, as Annex M is unlikely to give you any decent speed increase on your line as it's quite long. In fact, it'll probably just lose you a large chunk of downstream for a couple of hundred kbps of upstream. When you do get enabled, just make sure your upstream is a large chunk higher than 1300kbps, otherwise just downgrade :)

Yeah ill see what happends

going to fit this bebox & get a netgear router upgrade and take it from there really , if i get better than 5MB ill be very happy :)

ill see how stable it goes for the next week , is it worth geting on LLU? or whatever its called?

+ ill be getting a new router too
