Age of Conan

I installed wow to have a look since i havnt played it in ages. What a mistake! There servers are dying, maybe 10 million people have subscribed to the game since release but there certainally are not 10 million people playing. The AH economy is screwed due to gold buyers and the fighting is no where near as good as AoC. A strange thing which i noticed with both EQ2 and wow is that people are just giving gold away in vast amounts, its really odd.

I went on the AoC forums yesterday (dont go to mmo forums much) and saw what a mess they were in, it looks like all the winers from the early days of wow forums have made a come back! Not sure what started it, but boy people are really going at it. Of course none of what the winers are saying makes any sence.

Honestly lads some of the comments around these parts is nothing short of pathetic, boring, childish, moronic and really annoying.

Grow up, some of you are supposed to be adults, and some of us want to talk about this game without having their eyes offended with your tripe.

So what is all the uprawr for on the AoC forums? I tried resubbing last night but couldnt get onto the account site.

I find it strange that as soon as anyone says something bad about wow you have fan bois throwing the toys out the pram... even when its in an AoC thread. Weird.

it's the same as any other mmo forums - people whinge about having no communication yet as soon as they something it's not good enough and how the they've missed out loads of super important game breaking things and don't give them a daily update. then they complain about the patches, then there's the complaining about people conplaining etc etc.

over the last few days it has been grey elite thing, the bug that occasionally causes a boss to do loads of damage and 1 shot a person, the game directors notes and the update notes.
 
Official forums of MMOs are always terrible, they tend to attract all the whining hormonal pubescents. NCsoft had the best idea not having any official forums for GW - and even then if you went to the forums on fansites you'd still find loads of "ANet, nerf **** or I quit!!!" whines. I stopped reading the AoC forums as they were absolutely depressing, every day half the new posts would be massive walls of text analysing why this game was going down the spout.

At least FC don't let you post if you're not subscribed, otherwise you'd get the people who left coming back simply to troll the game. A friend of mine who used to play WoW told me that Blizzard didn't have the sense to do that so there's always people popping into threads to spout "You see? This is EXACTLY why I left!"

Stop reading them and save yourself the aggravation.
 
Just finished Ninja Gaiden 2 on my 360 and after something to keep me entertained till the end of the summer, is this worth getting ?

How expensive is it ? Is there a trial available ? What are the system requirements for it ?

I'll start by saying im not a WoW Fanboy :)

I quit it for 3 years while dabbling in other games inlcuding LOTRO and EVE and then AoC before starting back again last month.

But to answer you're question.

IMO No! i wasted £35 on it and found the gameplay very sterile and the story line didnt grab me at all. Just felt like a constant grind, in every mmo you have to grind at somepoint but AoC was a grind in every way i could have imagined. Maybe one day they will change a lot of things and it will be better but right now, seriously forget it :)

Another one of things that annoy me about this game. Unless you are running a mainframe with probably the worlds best GPU setup you may aswell forget it running smooth in city area's and when you actualy look at the graphics you sit there wondering why it runs so bad because it certainly doesn't blow you away. And then there is the Grpahics Setting Menu, which as far as i can tell is basicaly a lot of buttons which do nothing at all. I mean i could drop to low everything including the res and it would run exactly like it did with high everything, infact often it would run better in high .. oh and by better i mean 5-10fps in the cities :(

I tried it on friends machines who have better spec than me and it was pretty much the same thing.

Save yourself hassle and money and buy WoW or LOTRO which isn't as good as WoW IMO but the graphics are nice :)
 
WoW is just a bit dated on the graphics, thats all. I hope wotlk improves the visuals (as much possible since it's not a new engine).

... and there must be a reason people are addicted to WoW don't you think? Why not addicted to something else?
