Is it just me or is it worrying that the OP does even know which are the driven wheels in his car (irrespective of how often he drives it) and that he is considering getting a high performance car?
Being a fellow biker how can you not feel the sensation of how the power is pushing the car forward? Riding a bike is a really sensory thing.
I mean no offence by this by the way, I just find it a bit odd
haha, no offence taken. All quite true, but, I did explain earlier, I don't drive the MX5: since buying in 2006 I can probably count the number of times on my hands. And even then, they're generally short journeys.
On top of that, I'm really not that into cars(!) I like the way some look, and I like powerful things. For example, I have no idea how an engine works and I reckon that, although I'd work it out, I'd even struggle to change a wheel!! (I know this will probably anger some purists, but I really don't see why that matters: I a person wants x car, he doesn't have to be a mechanic or member of some special club)
Anyway, was discussing this whole proposal yesterday with Her Indoors, and she's hit the roof! I was proposing to sell my bikes (MX and road) and the MX5 and replace them with a 911 of some description. And yes, it does have to be a 911 because I just love the look of them.
The voice of reason (her) however, seems to have scuppered these plans: without a bike I'd have to take the train to work - that was the whole point of buying the bike in the first place (I HATE commuting on the train), and probably worse, she'd use the new car every day for work, which would just not be fair.
I was always going to buy a sports car this year, but have gone back to the drawing board. Looked for an RS6 last night... but that's a whole new thread (and ironically, I'm not sure I can actually afford a decent one!)
