i don't believe ps3 online gaming will always be free(there playing catchup, so it helps them offering it free), i think once they catch up(or get close) with live they will charge for it.

Why make it free when the competition hasnt yet caught up. I believe it will be free once PSN is on equal terms with it
I'm hoping next generation live will be free, I'd accept a one off payment else my next year of live will be my last (Not renewing until my home internet is back).
Not a chance, imo.
