Age of Conan

WoW is just a bit dated on the graphics, thats all. I hope wotlk improves the visuals (as much possible since it's not a new engine).

... and there must be a reason people are addicted to WoW don't you think? Why not addicted to something else?

From what I have seen they have just added realtime shadowing in WoTLK, I think any other "improved" visuals are just more attention to detail given by the zone designers.

On getting AoC, I would truely recommend getting hold of a buddy key or waiting for a trial... I loved AoC when it was released, but several patches later and my account is cancelled and i'm going back to WoW. Funcom utterly changed the core gameplay (for the worse) in mini-patches a mere few weeks from release... if they are that insecure about their own game then I don't hold any hope for it at all.

Which most people will probably switch off cause it always has a performance hit with no real gain in "improved visuals". The thing about shadows, is you often don’t notice their absence.

They need to improve the draw distance, its still criminally short in some areas.

I can understand that point, but i do find the use of colour in WoW really makes the inviroment pretty and pleasing on the eye. Since going back to WoW ive never thought at one point "these graphics are crap" i often find myself admiring them. LOTRO is better though for sure. But it is newer.

Just bought the game and it reject my password even though its correct....

A bad work man blames his tools.
The thing i like about AoC is that you dont feel like your grinding like wow for instance. But its a shame they havnt got a better crafting system, but they are patching like mad so who knows.

I think I've quit :(

Was really busy the past few weeks so not played much but just not had the motivation to even start it up again. Might try it again in a few months depending on content and also depending how good/bad WAR turns out to be.

Ignore bushmins he's a bit of a tool and will slate WoW at any given chance.

I leveled 1-70 on WoW purely by quests, no grinding involved, unless you mean the "Kill X amount of certain mobs" then yes quite a lot of them are in the game, but they don't feel all that bad at all, as long as you are grinding for a quest and the amount isn't too insane I don't mind.

Yeah i agree Jihad, no grinding involved at all really, which is how it should be.

The only ones that i can think of that are *almost* verging on that are the Nagrand hunting quests and ogre ones. Although thats nothing compared to AoC, which had a "kill 50 of this" before you even leave Tortage.

WoW has never had that many things to kill in one go.

Um, every quest out there is either a go fetch or grind. Dont know what youve been playing, certainly not any mmo i know of.

Lol. I have my very own stalker. *Waves* Hi stalker.

Took me years to get bored of wow, but AoC was uninstalled after 1 week. It's pure grind. There's no satisfaction gained from completing quests and levelling, because after all is said and done you are a clone, and no matter what gear you are wearing you look exactly like everyone else. There is nothing to encourage you to level except pure willpower and a fetish for counting from 1-80, very slowly.

WoW is fun. I didnt even notice the levels go by because there's a constant stream of sweeteners (cool, unique-looking items that actually give you some individuality, and interesting and fun dungeons). On the other hand AoC is basically the gaming equivalent of watching paint dry, 80 times.

Bushmins, you lose!

(Disclaimer: max level may not be 80)

Did I read that rightly? Your gear doesn't make you look different from everyone else? I was stood in the shop today looking at this for about 10 mins and was going to buy it tomorrow, but that's put me right off.

Coming from a fan of AoC, i find that laughable, as i do to pretty much all you've said in the last few pages.
