All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Im not sure how Huckerby managed to keep a straight face through all that :D

edit: TBH that's a fair reflection of yanks knowledge of football. I was over in Vegas for the semi's and the final of the Euro's and you get a few yanks who think they know what they're talking about trying to educate the rest, had me in stitches :D

Nor Arsenal either. He's just a Judas *******.

No we turfed him out. Good thing as well as Touré appeared to have peaked at the right time.

Here's hoping he can rediscover that form for next year, the ACoN and playing out of position for the final few games appeared to have screwed him a little.

from the BBC:

Fulham close to signing Andy Johnson apparantly.

Madness for the figures going around. I'd be happy to have re-couped 6 million on a player that can run fast to the touchline chasing lost balls. Very little strength, falls over easily and bottles taking a pen in the biggest game of his life.

So you left with someone whose quick and doesn't score goals. May as well sign Dwain Chambers.

What no Hull rumours today? Poor show.

Wenger says we still have at least one more midfielder to sign. Not sure whether to expect a winger or a DM though.

Also, Toure's got malaria. :(

Best bit for me is them talking about the greatest goal of all time against Manchester United (host: "We're looking at it here!"), whilst playing some random goal he scored for Norwich against Birmingham.
No no no, it wasn't Manchester United, it was "Manchester". I think he beat both teams with one goal.

Latest Spurs rumours:

- Arshavin signed, subject to a medical
- Bentley eventually signed for £12mil plus Robbo
- Fee agreed for Pavlyuchenko

I'll believe it when I see them holding a Spurs shirt though. :)

Don't really want Arshavin as I don't feel he is good enough. He hasn't proven himself enough, 2 good games at the Euro's and a good UEFA Cup Final isnt enough. Would rather we saved the cash and purchased a DMC with it.

Bentley looks likely to be a Spurs player at some point during the season, just a matter of time and money offered.

As for Pavvy, he looks good, knows where the goal is, and as long as his fee is less than the cash we get for Berba then wont be too bad.

Just need a DMC now.

Not aimed at you, but I wonder how much United paid their Norweigen friends to advise they made up the quote.

I don't reckon they got paid to make anything up. I think they just got a bit over-excited at getting to interview Ferguson, and decided to be a bit "inventive" with their quotes in order to generate some interest in their site.

LIke I said earlier it was said that the quotes were false anyway, even before it all came out about Spurs reporting United. But yes I assume something was done anyway.

You paid £8.6m, figure rumoured to be £10-11m

I haven't heard anything about Zokora leaving and anything about a new DMC being linked with us. It's worrying. :(

I don't think Zokora is leaving, but I have heard that Ramos doesn't rate him highly enough, not tall enough and physical enough apparently.

What he does have though is a lot of energy, if only we could mould him and Huddlestone together.

Liverpool sign yet another youth, Emmanuel Mendy from Murcia Deportivo.

Seriously, if we dont make a decent first team signing soon I'm going to cry. This summer transfer window has been so crap its unreal. I'm not just talking about Liverpool either.

So much for the ripping right winger we've needed for God knows how long.

Sorry just having a bit of a moan here.
