MGS4 has much less codec conversation than previous MGS series so the cut scenes doesn't feel that long to me.

At the end of the day some like some dont...... so far i like but i am very disappointed and expected more....

Its not a rubbish game by any means, in fact its far from it, but i am disappointed with the lack of gameplay - it has a lot of detail this game but i dont feel the need as i havent been able to utilize them.

I have not bought the game yet and from what most people are saying i think i will give it a miss.
No wonder they needed a blu-ray disc as it seems most of the game is just movie clips.

To be honest now, and im no fanboy by any means but theres a guy floating around on here with his sig as a 360 achievement for MGS4 saying insert disc 6 or similar.

Thats just hilarious because the ps3 has to install each Act before you can play it lol - look at GTA4 how you have to install that before you play... i think the whole console ware is hilarious how people take the Michael out of the 360 for having DL discs and not huge Blu Ray ones - which need to be installed

But TBH you should defo give it a go... dont take what i said to be the opinion of yourself without playing it first. Have a bash and if it bores you, sell it.

I wouldnt have cared if they said its £20 because its the finale and isnt really a big game. But £40 and no gameplay makes Shep a dull boy.

Sheep? You do know some people actually don't mind the cut scenes in Metal Gear? Play the game on big boss extreme and you'll get plenty more gameplay out of MGS4.

If you want more gameplay, try MGO.

you need to open your eyes and realise that you are very much in the minority of people who dislike the game instead of calling everyone else sheep (lol)

fair enough its your opinion and there will be people who dislike it and most people should see that but its also pretty stupid to complain about mgs having long cutscenes when you have played previous mgs games, you should know what to expect - long cutscenes and an epic storyline is very much part of the mgs formula

MGS1 relied a lot on codec conversations and you had to manually skip the converstation via button mashing. Also the aiming of weapons felt very clusmy. That didn't stop it being one the greatest games of all time for amalgamation of story telling and gameplay. MGS4 I reckon is the best game Kojima's created and one for the fans as they get to see snake's last mission.

If you have a ps3, you owe it to yourself to atleast try the game instead of going by what other people say, which is straight up dumb.

As much as I'd like to agree with Shep on this one I can't tbh. I brought the game due to the hype and have never played a MGS game in my life. Prior to purchase I'd read about the lengthy cut scenes and had decided to skip all of them as the story wouldn't make any sense to me why watch them I thought. Well I'm now at the start of Act 5 and haven't skipped one cut scene, and even more amazing the missus has been watching them as well and she hates games with a passion.

The reason being is because they are just so good. Still don't have a clue what the hell is going on but in my eyes the excellent cut scenes and immense gameplay make the game what it is.

Let be honest what do we have out that is better at the moment, GTA4?

You want to talk about wasting £40, that's exactly what I did + 30 hours of my life when I brought GTA4, the biggest overrated pile of horse **** of a game.

its right there!

if you're up to act 4 and still don't think its good gameplay wise then i suggest you give up now. if its quantity you're concerned about then i suggest you restart the game on a harder setting and attempt a stealth run (for emblems) for a taste of what mgs is all about, you'll also easily get your moneys worth out of that. i did think the gameplay was fine though even before i did reruns

don't forget about mgo either.
