i agree the time based method is better than the grind method but in eve imho you need 10m SP before you can really do anything. doesnt it take a month to just train the basic learning skills? what is the point?
i said back when i quit, eve should spawn new characters with 10m SP, then they can get right into the action and witin a year be quite good and probably be some 25m SP by then.
now with new skills it should probably be 15m SP
but by far, the BIGGEST problem in eve was lack of PVP. the reason for this imho was mainly becuase losing a t2 fitted ship could set you back 10h.
ie if you lost a T2 kitted BS you took a 150m hit, and would have to GRIND for 10h before you could get it back. 1m of pvp for 10h grind??
i was lucky in that i had plenty of isk when i played , but the people i killed where less lucky and could only earn the average jo wage of eve which was 5-15m an hour.
I lost another hard earned Destroyer today from being ambushed by a cruiser and also my own fault in not playing it safe. As a month old noob, this is a harsh lesson, but it makes the game more challenging. I know that I have to work hard to earn more cash and play more cautiously. This is the risk I take if I venture too far to lower spec systems.
